Last year, Raina came home from one of her Pure Barre classes with a Swell bottle. I liked it and told her I’d love one as well. A few weeks later, she found one on sale for me. It’s been great. When LAMOSE offered a sample of their affordable Moraine bottles, I was happy to accept it and compare.
It, too, is a great bottle!
The LAMOSE Moraine bottle is well constructed, and it keeps cold beverages cold for up to 24 hours. It keeps hot beverages hot for up to 12 hours. In my testing, this proved to be pretty much accurate. Add in the fact that they are fairly priced and … I’m a fan.
The name of the line comes from the Moraine Lake in Banff, Canada. They chose the name as a nod to their respect for the environment and their commitment to producing products that are environmentally balanced. As they explain:

The Moraine bottle is available in a number of colors. These include Onyx Black, Snow White, Pine Green, Lemon Yellow, Smokey Gray, Glacier Blue and Mirrorless Micro. Each of the bottles is constructed entirely of stainless steel. There’s no plastic to be found anywhere on them. The result is a bottle that is durable, easy to clean, dishwasher safe and able to ensure high-temperature sterilization.
Admittedly, Swell bottles come in a far wider range of colors and designs. There are, in fact, more than a hundred different colors and designs currently available for Swell’s iconic bottles. Add in the fact that the company has now rolled out a series of other beverage containers and, if you are looking for lots of choices, then Swell has you covered. More than that, however, Swell bottles are a fashion statement.
But staying hydrated isn’t a fashion statement; at least I don’t think it should be. And that’s where LAMOSE has the edge.
Their bottles are also incredibly durable, and they have a much wider mouth. That means it is easier to get ice cubes into the bottles and, in my opinion, easier to drink from them. It also makes the bottle easier to clean.
In addition, LAMOSE Moraine bottles are also less expensive with the 20 oz bottle is $25.95 while the 27-ounce version is $34.95. By comparison, the 9-ounce Swell bottle is $25, the 17-ounce Swell bottle has an MSRP of $35, and the 25-ounce bottle is a pricey $45. And that is the least expensive version of the bottles. A quick look at the website shows that a fancier version of the 17-ounce bottle can run $150 and bottles with Swarovski crystals can run as much as… wait for it… $1500. That’s right; you can spend up to $1500 for a water bottle.
It happens not only to be pricey, but it’s absolutely hideous. LAMOSE, on the other hand, sticks to the basics. I like that.
