BOSS Announces EUROS GS-1 Electronic Guitar, First Wireless Expression Pedal, and Gig Bags

I am essentially hapless as a guitar player. My brother, now he can rip; he has a mini-studio, several guitars, a bunch of effects, friends he records with, and he even had a band for a while. Me? I stick to the piano. But I do love the equipment, the gizmos and gadgets, and gear. And here comes BOSS to fulfill my gadget/gear/gizmo-loving soul with the new EUROS GS-1 Electronic Guitar, Wireless Pedal, and gig bags.

BOSS EUROS GS-1 Electronic Guitar

Although, as previously mentioned, I can’t play a lick, I do love guitars. One of my favorite, most cherished books is, in fact, The Guitar Handbook, published in 1982 (with a 1992 updated version!). I like it not just for all the nerdy guitar info but also the profiles of various guitarists. Especially guitars like the famous Fender Stratocaster, of course, that launched 1000 would-be Jimi Hendrixes into the world.

But it also talks about such things as the Roland guitar synth, fuzz tone boxes, other effect mutant effects that folks like Pete Townshend, Alex Leifson, Adrien Belew, Tom Morello, and so many more have used to assault our eardrums with weirdness over the years.

BOSS EUROS GS-1 Electronic Guitar

But I digress. The point here is that BOSS has added another to the mix, the EURUS GS-1, which has onboard Bluetooth to allow you to customize synth sounds and control multiple performance parameters with the convenience over wireless.

It has six onboard memories with ready-to-play sounds and a synth control knob for hands-on, dynamic expression. And you can use the iOS or Android app for goofing with your synth customizations! If you were me, you’d spend more time fiddling with the toys than playing. Good thing you’re not me.

BOSS EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal

Of course, what is a guitar without a pedal? The BOSS EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal is a cable-free external control for the guitar’s synth engine via Bluetooth. With the GS-1 Editor, you can adjust parameters such as pitch bend, hold, filter depth. Each sound can contain its own set of assignments, allowing you to perform octave bends on a synth lead, slow filter sweeps on a pad sound, and other interesting fiddles.

BOSS Gig Bags

And naturally, you need something to carry your guitar in, so BOSS is also offering a couple of new gig bags, the CB-EG10 and the CB-EG20.

So are you a player? (No, not that kind; a guitar player like my brother!) Check out the new gear from BOSS. The GS-1 Electronic Guitar will be available in October for an MSRP of $2199.99.

You can find it and all of the other new gear from BOSS on their site.
