Get the Gear You Need in Time for EA Games’ Battlefield 2042 Launch!

EA Games Battlefield 2042 will be released on November 19th, and if you’re a fan of the Battlefield franchise, you’re probably eagerly anticipating playing it. And what better way to get ready to game than to have some Battlefield 2042 themed gear on hand? Here’s a selection of products that will get you — and your favorite gaming device — ready for battle!

Battlefield 2042

Here’s the official Battlefield 2042 trailer, in case you haven’t yet seen it.

Initially set to launch on October 22nd but delayed due to the pandemic causing “unforeseen challenges for our development teams,” Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter game set on earth in the near future. It will launch with seven maps that include destructive elements and extreme weather.

What’s the premise behind Battlefield 2042? As EA Games explains it:

The world of Battlefield 2042 is chaos. Resources are dwindling as violent climate change takes hold and the United States and Russia are on the verge of war. As entire countries collapse, people find themselves with no nation to call home. These nomads are known as the Non-Patriated (“No-Pats”), a diverse group of people who have bound together in clusters across the globe in order to survive the turbulent new world.

In Battlefield 2042, you’ll play as Non-Patriated soldiers with unique skills who’ve taken up arms. They are known as Specialists, tasked with carrying out military operations. In-game, each of these unique Specialists have their own specialty and trait that you can use to give yourself the advantage in combat.

Even better, you’ll learn more about the Battlefield 2042 world through the eyes of the Specialists that you’ll be playing as, with each having their own story connecting them to the Battlefield narrative and to the world itself.

After watching this short film, Exodus, I can see Battlefield 2042 being the next movie with a gaming background, can’t you? [NSFW warning due to language]

If you are on a PS4 or Xbox One, Battlefield 2042 will allow two teams of up to 32 players each. On a PC, PlayStation5, and Xbox Series X and Series S, Battlefield 2042 will allow two teams of up to 64 players each. In either case, you’ll be able to engage in an all-out battle while unlocking skills and weapons as your team attempts to capture hold points and control the various sectors. There’s even a winged suit in the official trailer that looks rather interesting!

The seven maps the Battlefield 2042 will launch with are:

  • HOURGLASS, set in Doha, Qatar: Fight in a city lost to the desertification around it. Massive dust and sand storms are constantly rolling in, blotting out the natural light, as you battle for control of a convoy trapped in the shifting sands.
  • DISCARDED, set in Alang, India: Along a strategic section of India’s west coast, colossal ships stranded on the beach are being stripped for parts. Fight among the hulls of these behemoths while adapting to deadly storms.
  • MANIFEST, set in Brani Island, Singapore: Watch out for tropical tornadoes and navigate through maze-like cargo containers in this key trade location, vital to American supply lines.
  • KALEIDOSCOPE, set in Songdo, South Korea: In a state-of-the-art metropolis in South Korea, zipline between skyscrapers and fight among the plazas surrounding the city’s iconic data center.
  • ORBITAL, set in Kourou, French Guiana: It’s a race against time and hostile conditions as you fight around the site of an imminent rocket launch. Watch out for both enemy fire and upcoming storms on this dynamic map.
  • BREAKAWAY, set in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica: Tread carefully on this dynamic map, where oil extraction has turned the freezing area to a strategic hot spot. Take advantage of destructible fuel tanks and silos that create debris fields and permanent fires when destroyed.
  • RENEWAL, set in Eastern Desert, Egypt: A giant wall, built to secure rich, man-made agricultural areas, takes center stage on this intense map. Prepare for the extreme conditions, deploy, and secure the access points and massive gates in the wall.

Okay! So here is some gear and swag to make sure that you are ready for battle and tide you over until the release date!
