Sharp Roku TV: Roku Maintains Its industry Leading Position for 2nd Year and Announces New Partnership with Sharp

Raina and I have several different streaming boxes connected to our living room TV; the one we use most often is our Roku box. The reason is simple; Roku has created a robust streaming ecosystem that is simple to use and just keeps getting better. It’s why they remain the number one Smart TV OS, and now we have news of a new Sharp Roku TV!

Sharp Roku TV

Roku recently announced that they are the top-selling Smart TV OS in the United States for the second year in a row. (That number is based on a survey from January 3, 2021, to December 4, 2021, and based on retail sales.) I’m not surprised.

Roku has built a powerful, customizable platform that’s still easy to use. It is so easy to use that when my mother needed a new television, I got her one powered by Roku OS. Mom’s not the most tech-savvy person, but seeing how quickly she got the hang of the Roku interface drove home just how good Roku’s system is.

I love our smart televisions, but if we were currently in the market for a new one, there is no question we would go for one with Roku built-in.

Sharp Roku TV Models Coming

Roku also announced a new partnership with Sharp to bring Sharp Roku TV models to customers in the United States this year. The partnership will result in the availability of a series of HD and 4K TV models that combine SSharp’stelevision know-how with RRoku’ssmarts; that’s a powerful combination!

The new 2022 Sharp Roku TV models will have a customizable home screen, be compatible with RRoku’svoice technology and Siri and Google Assistant and, of course, bring thousands of channels, including over 200 live TV channels, into your home.

As Mustafa Ozgen, GM & SVP of Account Acquisitions, Roku observances:

Sharp, like Roku, is an award-winning, household-known brand and we look forward to a productive partnership together in the US. We both firmly believe that the power and ease of use of Roku TV, combined with the Sharp brand promise of ‘simply better living’ makes an appealing combination for customers looking for a great TV experience.

Jim Sanduski, President of Sharp Home Electronics Company of America, adds,

We are excited to collaborate with Roku and equip our new HD and 4K UHD TVs with their award-winning Operating System (OS). Pairing our long-standing heritage in display technology with Roku’s best-in-class, easy-to-use interface is a winning combination for our consumers.
