The folks at MediaTek are consistently launching new chips and platforms to keep up with the changing technological landscape. They’ve got some exciting news coming out this week, with developments under the hood and ones you’ll interact with more directly!
First, there are the chip developments, which — at face value — may not sound exciting, but they will lead to faster and more efficient devices, and we all want that! MediaTek is teaming up with Google to work on home-device radio solutions so more of your everyday appliances can get smarter and more connected.
They’ve also just announced that they’re rolling out a slew of WiFi Certified 7 devices, led by the MediaTek Filogic chipsets.
These chipsets will be for always-connected products like routers, phones, TVs, etc. The end consumer isn’t necessarily picking out MediaTek Filogic chipsets by name, but big names like Asus, Buffalo, Hisense, Lenovo, Lumen, and many more are partnering with them.
Once again, MediaTek quietly improves the technology we use every day.
MediaTek also announced two new partnerships. They’ll be working with Sensory to enable AI capabilities in the Dimensity Auto platform. Sensory uses natural language automotive commands, making it easier to ask your car to handle things like calling someone hands-free or changing the music.
The less you take your eyes off the road, the better!
Finally, MediaTek will integrate its AI-Super Resolution (AI-SR) technology in Hisense’s smart TVs. AI-SR can upgrade content streams to 4K even when the original is FHD, using the magic of AI and intelligent image analysis to make everything appear seamless. Better binging in 2024!
But wait, there’s more!
MediaTek is collaborating with Skylo to enable satellite connectivity and is working with ACCESS to create better infotainment solutions for connected cars.
