Roku Expands Reach with Exclusive Content from Quibi

Until the past September, I hadn’t used a Roku device in years. A work project required me to get one, and I was truly impressed with what Roku has become. I’m even planning to add Roku setup boxes to my other televisions! Now Roku has announced exclusive rights to Quibi’s library of more than 75 shows and documentaries.

Samsung Goes Greener and Offers More Accessibility with New TVs

At Samsung’s (virtual) press conference presentation yesterday, the company announced new products and initiatives that reflect their commitment to innovation. Televisions that are more immersive than ever were on display, as were innovations that can make entertainment more accessible to more people. Here’s a look at some of what they shared.

Roku and HBO Max FINALLY Hook Up!

We are big fans of Roku here at Gear Diary. They make some truly excellent hardware and strive to offer a hardware and software experience that makes streaming easy, no matter what your choice of content. It’s been frustrating, then, that they didn’t have a deal with Time Warner’s HBO Max. It was basically the only streaming service you COULDN’T get natively on your Roku…until now!

Keep Your New Gear Charged with Aukey’s Line of Powerful Wall Adapters

You’ll likely get at least one gift this holiday season that needs to be charged. Unfortunately, companies like Apple no longer include wall adapters with their phones. Thankfully, Aukey offers a range of smart, technologically advanced charging solutions. You can see all their offerings here. First, though, take a look at the four offerings they sent us to check out.

Spotify’s 2020 Wrapped Experience Is an Interesting Look Back on This Very Weird Year

Are you a Spotify user? If so, you may have noticed that they’ve recently published their year-end Wrapped results, which revealed the artists, songs, and albums that the world most streamed in 2020. Even better, they’ve released personalized Wrapped results for eligible Free and Premium users. Did you check yours out? I did, and it was enlightening, albeit not surprising. I’ve played these artists and their songs on repeat, and honestly, it’s part of what got me through this insane year.

Lenovo Helps the Office Embrace Video Conferencing No Matter Where You Are

We’re hopefully going to see an end to the COVID-19 pandemic soon, but there will be some lasting changes to how we work. Even when people go back to work, it’s unlikely we’re all going to be mingling like the before days. Lenovo is all set to make this transition easier, whether it’s working from home or holding virtual meetings across the world, with a line of adorably tiny computers, webcams, a soundbar for better audio (no more “I hear feedback, is it you or me? Hello?”), and ThinkSmart Manager to make the whole thing run smoothly.

Gabb Wireless Is Giving a Kid-Safe Phone to the First 2,500 to Respond on November 23

If you’ve got a pre-teen, you’ve likely wondered when the right time to get them their own phone might be. Maybe you’ve resisted giving in and putting them on your plan — even though calling and texting with your child when you’re separated would be so convenient — because you’re worried about stunting your child’s development or enabling their inevitable metamorphosis into a phone-addicted, anti-social, pasty little hunchback with bloodshot eyes. Fair Enough. Or maybe you’re rightly concerned about social media cyberbullying, inappropriate internet content, and online predators. Gabb Wireless has a solution.

The Great Cloud Debate: What System Is Right for Your Business?

What kind of cloud storage does your business use? If yours is like many other companies, you likely use a combination of different platforms depending on the task. That’s because hybrid or multi-cloud approaches offer a convenient and cost-efficient option for day-to-day operations, securing sensitive information as needed while keeping other documents and data immediately at hand. Essentially, a hybrid cloud strategy offers the best of both worlds and sidesteps the risks associated with single-vendor reliance, but for some businesses, such a blended approach isn’t an option.

Sam & Max Remastered: Announced for PC and Switch, and Available for Pre-Order

Back in 2007 Telltale Games released the critically acclaimed six-part Sam & Max series for the PC, with later editions bundling all episodes for releases on consoles. For myself and other fans of classic adventure games, this was a revelation – the original game creators back with new entries that reinvent the entire genre and modernize classic characters. Eventually, three full seasons of Sam & Max were released and they were all great – but that first season absolutely stunned the gaming world. And now they’re back looking better than ever!

Nokia Comes Roaring into the mmWave 5G World with the Nokia 8 V 5G UW

The ’90s are coming back in the form of flannel, Saved by the Bell, Foo Fighters on SNL, and now new Nokia phones. But unlike a candy-bar style phone that plays Snake, Nokia has adopted the typical slab design of a 2020 Android smartphone, but with some of that Nokia magic sprinkled on top. Enter the Nokia 8 V 5G UW, the company’s second 5G phone.
