Gear Diary MacBook Pro Retina? Tom Bihn Has Over 17 Ways to Carry and Protect It photo

Judie loves her MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

I love my MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

And any of my friends who bit when Apple announced their “best Mac ever” love it too.

Yes, the new MacBook Pro is a fantastic computer. And while it still weighs significantly more than the MacBook air it is lighter, and therefore more portable, than that standard MBP 15″. If you are going to carry the laptop you are going to want to protect it… in style. Tom Bihn has more than 17 different options among travel bags, backpacks, briefcases, and messenger bags for carrying and protecting the Apple 15″ MacBook Pro Retina.

As the company shared in a blog post earlier today,

Amongst the bags that fit the 15″ MacBook Pro Retina are the Tri-Star carry-on travel bag, the uber-organized Smart Alec backpack, and the Empire Builder briefcase. Paired with either the Brain Cell, TOM BIHN’s unique hard-sided laptop case featuring memory foam and a suspension sling, or the Cache, a laptop sleeve that’s TSA checkpoint friendly, each of these bags becomes a versatile and secure way to carry and protect the Apple 15″ MacBook Pro Retina. As with all TOM BIHN designs, the bags offered for the Apple 15″ MacBook Pro Retina are made with top-tier, innovative construction techniques and are crafted from the highest quality materials, such as U.S. made, high tenacity 1050d ballistic nylon and Japanese ultralight Dyneema®/nylon ripstop fabric.

Among the options are…

Having a father who was heavily involved in early laser and fiber-optical research, Dan grew up surrounded by technology and gadgets. Dan’s father brought home one of the very first video games when he was young and Dan remembers seeing a “pre-release” touchtone phone. (When he asked his father what the “#” and “*” buttons were his dad said, “Some day, far in the future, we’ll have some use for them.”) Technology seemed to be in Dan’s blood but at some point he took a different path and ended up in the clergy. His passion for technology and gadgets never left him.
