I have written quite a bit about Star Wars, from games to movies to analysis of the prequels. And while I am a fan of the franchise, I would certainly not consider myself a fanboy. And certainly not an ‘extreme fanboy’. But I just got an email about the release of a DVD called ‘Jedi Junkies’, which chronicles some epic fans in their pursuits related to the film franchise.
Here are some details:
JEDI JUNKIES, the first documentary about extreme Star Wars fans, is now available on DVD effective TODAY, on Amazon.
This fun, affectionate documentary profiles some of the projects inspired by the multi-billion-dollar grossing deep space epic: from the creation of a full-size Millennium Falcon spacecraft in a fan’s backyard, to schools teaching light saber fighting techniques, this film tells the stories of Star Wars fans who will shock and delight you with how they redefine Star Wars fandom.
Featuring the perspectives of celebrity insiders including Olivia Munn (Attack of the Show, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Phantom Menace actor Ray Park (Darth Maul), Celebrity Fit Club’s Dr. Linda Papodopolis and Blair Witch Project director Ed Sanchez, JEDI JUNKIES will change the way you look at fandom forever!

My family did a bit several years ago for a charity ‘Haunted House’ at a local church where we all dressed up in Star Wars outfits and acted out the same skit over and over again for four hours on two consecutive nights. It was a load of fun, and it is amazing as Olivia Munn says in the trailer seeing how people react and the immediacy with which they identify you as your character! Check it out!
