The popular (and violently graphic) Mortal Kombat game series is ramping up brutalities while adding four new characters into the mix in the latest upcoming installment Mortal Kombat X from NetherRealm Studios.

MortalKombatX

Mortal Kombat X takes place 25 years after 2011’s Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat X will include over 100 brutalities, which will require players to meet certain conditions to unlock them. Players will also get the first-time ability to choose multiple versions of each character and ongoing online play where each fight makes a difference in the overall global player status.

Familiar elements include the button input based fatalities and characters including Mileena, Sindel, Sub-Zero and Scorpion. New fighters include Jacqueline Briggs, daughter of Jax, Takashi Takeda, son of Kenshi, and Kung Jin, descendant of Kung Lao.

Mortal Kombat X will release on April 14 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. A special Kollector’s Edition will also be available and will include Scorpion figurine along with other goodies like this previous peripheral. DC Comics has also published a comic book series based on the game.

Will you be fighting in these Mortal melees?
