I’ve been on a kick lately where I haven’t had a case on my phone at all, but that’s not very smart — especially considering that my phone is brand new, and I need to keep it pristine for when I ultimately eBay it. Using the new Just Mobile TENC Self-Healing Case is the next best thing to being naked.
The original Backbeat Pro was a thing of beauty. These over-the-ear headphones were comfortable, got a whopping 100 meters of wireless range, offered active noise cancellation, delivered outrageously good battery life of up to 24 hours AND sounded amazing. Now Plantronics has delivered the Backbeat Pro+ Wireless, Noise Cancelling Headphones with HI-FI USB Adapter.
Kev and I recently adopted Hephaestus, a similarly colored cat to my darling departed Avah. Heph was about six-months-old when we moved in with us, so one of the first things we did was get him fixed, and then we introduced him to the LitterRobot, which he took to like a champ. (Formerly) male cats are awesome, but the smell!
Halloween is a great excuse to express yourself artistically by wearing fun costumes, carving up pumpkins, and decorating your house. For game retailers, it is yet another excuse for a great sale! And Amazon is doing what it usually does instead of a sale – it is offering a load of games and apps for FREE!
Halloween seems to bring out the SPOOKY SALE in everyone, and Just Mobile is no exception. They are hosting a 40% sale on various aluminum, leather, or aluminum and leather cases with AutoHeal Screen protector combos. Side Note: I just reviewed the AutoHeal, and I love it. For a limited time you can get the AluFrame Leather + AutoHeal (iPhone 6/6S), the SpinCase + AutoHeal (iPhone 6/6S), the AluFrame + AutoHeal (6/6S), and the AluFrame + AutoHeal (6 Plus/6S Plus) for $39.90. If you’re looking for a great case and a fab protector, now is the time to make your move!
The OnePlus One was one of the best-priced Android phones to come out in the last few years; made in small batches which created demand from those without invitations to purchase, it combined many of the features that people liked from different phones to create one single shockingly inexpensive, well-built and well-featured device. Dan and I both bought one.
I love my Sonos system. I have speakers in my living room, my bedroom and even the bathroom. Now Sonos is announcing a new PLAY:5. Pre-orders start Thursday, Oct. 29 and the new speaker will be available in US stores November 20. Available in a matte black and matte white, the new Sonos PLAY:5 will retail for $499 USD.
If rumors are correct, the next T-Mobile Uncarrier announcement could send shock waves through the mobile and cable industry. According to blogger and smartphone device leaker Evan Blass, T-Mobile’s Uncarrier 10 announcement on November 10 is set to announce unlimited high-speed data for watching select streaming video services (think Netflix, HBO, etc).
Facebook have announced the elimination of your “other” inbox. This was the place where messages sent by those you weren’t connected to would sit and languish. If you look into your messages and click the “other” tab you probably will find half a dozen spam messages – as well as one or two valid messages.
If you have an Auvi-Q auto injector, call your doctor immediately for a new prescription for an epipen. Sanofi Aventis is recalling ALL Auvi-Q injectors due to a potential flaw that may prevent medicine from being injected properly. They will reimburse you for the costs of the competitor’s replacement, so save your receipts.
I love when WaterField brings new offerings to market. Each and every time the product is well-conceived, brilliantly executed and designed to last a lifetime. That’s certainly the case with the new WaterField Field Muzetto. It is available in three sizes for tablets, small laptops and larger laptops. They look gorgeous and I can’t wait to get a review sample.
Yesterday Verizon and Motorola announced two new Droid smartphones; the Droid Turbo 2 with an “indestructible” screen, and the Droid Maxx 2. On paper, the Turbo 2 is the real story; the screen, 48 hours of battery life, and tons of customizations. The Maxx 2 has a lot of that, minus the indestructible screen. Oh, and it costs only $384.
If you’ve been eyeing one of the ultra-protective LUNATIK EPIK Apple Watch cases I reviewed last month or one of their excellent iPhone 6 cases, today is your lucky day!
Do you love the function of your iPad, but long for a something that looks a bit more exclusive? If you’ve got the money to set yourself apart from the herd, then Brinell has the iPad you’ve been hoping for; it’s aptly called the brinell iPad Air2.
I never finished my review of the Garmin VivoSmart, partly because the VivoActive arrived and I ran to that, but partly because it took a few firmware updates for everything to stabilize with the Bluetooth functionality. But I really loved the VivoSmart, and if I didn’t prefer GPS to smartwatch capabilities, I’d probably still use it today. So when I got a message about the new VivoSmart HR I was intrigued. At first glance you might think this is something new in the VivoFit line, as the appearance is much different than the original VivoSmart and closer to the VivoFit…
If you’ve got a case of the dropsies, you need a Loopy Case. The defining feature of the Loopy Case is the silicon loop on the back of the case that allows you to carry your phone with the loop secured around your finger. It’s perfect for multitasking or carrying multiple items. Loopy Case is currently crowd funding on Kickstarter.
One of the newer pieces of tech that I’ve had a hard time getting too excited about is 3D printers. It’s probably because most of them look pretty complicated, and they aren’t cheap! Dremel, makers of the tool every hobbyist is familiar with, has their own 3D printer; it’s affordable, and it’s supposed to be easy to use.
Blue, a company that has impressed us with their excellent headphones and microphones in the past, has just dropped Lola, their newest high-fidelity headphone.
Apple went big when they rolled out their new MacBook. It’s thin, light and looks fantastic. It also eschews traditional connectivity for the new USB-C standard. I have little doubt we will see this type of connectivity on more and more devices but Apple is, once again, forcing new connectivity on consumers. That’s where the Moshi USB-C-to-USB Adapter comes in.
We’ve been lucky so far, in that our toddler isn’t terribly picky. He’s not a fan of leafy vegetables, but otherwise he happily chows down on everything from burgers to tofu. I worry about what to do when he isn’t so agreeable, though, and luckily a local mom recently wrote a great book on the subject!
Okay, I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to Bluetooth stereos, and I’m running out of rooms that I can put them in, but I can honestly say that the Sound Blaster Roar 2 is special and becoming my favorite.
