RIPCemetery Wants to Make Saying Goodbye a Little Easier

Already this year I’ve lost several friends, mentors, and coworkers from my past. Each one had a different online obituary site, and most had some Facebook presence, but the ability to fully communicate felt limited. A new IndieGoGo project called RIPCemetary seeks to allow loved ones to “create a space to honor a person and keep the memories alive forever.”

Tablet Market Shrank in 2014, Here are Some Possible Reasons Why

Last week we learned iPad sales declined … again. It was another sign of a shift in the tablet market different from the smartphone market. Martian Watches Is Making Big Smartwatch Moves in 2015

Judie and I have been covering Martian Watches since they first debuted a few years ago. While smartwatches are still trying to find the sweet spot of form and functionality Martian Watches has stuck with its winning formula that leverages the capabilities already present in today’s smartphones and allowing access to them from your wrist.

Oort LED Review: Connected Mood Lighting with Benefits

While some parts of the “connected home” idea are natural fits for new technology (like smart thermostats and locks), I have been a huge skeptic of the idea that EVERYTHING should become smarter. Does a lightbulb really need Bluetooth? To overcome my skepticism, I volunteered to review the Oort LED Lightbulb, and now my household is in love.

Easily Defeat Keurig 2.0 DRM with the Roger’s Coffee Freedom Clip

Last year I wrote about Keurig’s new version 2.0 K-cup brewer, and how they were including digital rights management like features into it that would prevent owners from using any other K-cup except “approved” ones.  This has been worked around by many, but this free Freedom Clip from Roger’s Coffee has managed to make it easy to defeat this technology.

Is Under Armour the Dark Horse to Win in Wearables?

Even before Apple announced their Apple Watch, much of the tech world was looking to wearables to be the next big thing. Everyone is looking to established technology companies, but there’s someone coming in from outside the tech world positioning themselves to dominate, especially with their latest acquisitions: Under Armour.

2015 Mazda CX-9 Is Still a Winner

When Mazda first launched its flagship crossover utility, dubbed CX-9, it took what was then a radical approach to designing CUVs by adding, of all things, a third row. This quickly helped the CX-9 garner such high honors as North American Truck/Utility of the Year and Motor Trend Sport Utility of the Year and has helped it remain popular today.
