We are pushing more and more power into our phones. The problem is more power equals more heat. OnePlus is thinking INSIDE the box for a solution here, or at least inside the desktop tower, by designing the OnePlus 11 Concept phone, which is cooled using the same principles that keep gaming PCs frosty.

OnePlus 11 Concept

They’re not kidding around about taking inspiration from PCs. The OnePlus 11 Concept uses “Active CryoFlux,” which miniaturizes a piezoelectric micropump and pipelines that can circulate cooling liquid without increasing the phone’s size. As a bonus, “Active CryoFlux” definitely wins for most future-sounding technology.

Those aren’t just pretty lights on the back of the OnePlus 11 Concept; you actually see the illuminated cooling liquid as it circulates around the pipelines!

Beyond sounding and looking cool, OnePlus says that the new system can bring down the phone’s temperature by up to 2.1°C, enough to shave time off of charging or even make a game run a little smoother.

A cooler phone is a more efficient phone! But this is OnePlus, and they’re not going utilitarian here. They’re incorporating the cooling pipes into the phone’s design, so you can see them at work. There’s also a halo of cooling pipes around the camera array to further add to the style and emphasis on the new Active CryoFlux system.

Here are some shots of the OnePlus 11 Concept Phone directly from MWC!

It’s hard to say when we’ll see this in more than just concept phones, but the OnePlus 11 Concept is physically and stylistically cool!

And just to make things more exciting, OnePlus has just announced that they’ll introduce their first folding phone in the second half of this year!

Our first foldable phone will have the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience. It must be a flagship phone that doesn’t settle because of its folding form, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other aspects. We want to launch a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market. – Kinder Liu, President and COO of OnePlus.

Unfortunately, no photos of the upcoming foldable were released, but we will receive more info about it in the coming months. In the meantime, click here to see the latest OnePlus offerings, and be sure to check out our review of the OnePlus 11 5G!
