In the evolving landscape of post-pandemic telemedicine, BeamO stands out as a versatile solution. Combining the functionalities of four distinct medical devices, BeamO enables health professionals to remotely perform routine checks previously limited to in-person visits.
The Withings BeamO’s multiscope analysis utilizes sensors to interpret blood flow patterns, temperature, and acoustic information. Through Photoplethysmography (PPG) and electrodes, BeamO performs simultaneous blood oxygenation (SpO2) and heart rate readings with a medical-grade 1-lead ECG.
The device also offers precise core body temperature readings using advanced Thermo sensor technology. Additionally, BeamO features a digital stethoscope capturing acoustic sound waves for accurate heart and lung measurements.
The device promises a swift 4-in-1 health checkup, covering body temperature, heart, and lung health in under a minute. It can alert users to potential fever and infection while detecting cardiovascular issues, including atrial fibrillation (AfiB), pending FDA clearance.
As you might expect, BeamO will seamlessly integrate with the Withings app through Wi-Fi, creating comprehensive health records over time. The app will introduce new functionalities for BeamO and other connected health products to enable easy tracking, interpretation, and sharing of health readings.
You’ll also be able to use the app to upload medication details, set alerts, and log usage and side effects to better communicate what’s going on with your healthcare professional when you aren’t at the doctor’s office.
The Withings BeamO has been recognized as a CES Innovations Award Honoree and is set to retail at $249.95 in June 2024, following FDA clearance of its ECG capability.
