One of the most unusual products ZAGG has brought to market recently is the ZAGG Speaker Case for iPhone 6. This innovative case adds protection, extra battery life and a Bluetooth speakerphone to your powerful pocket computer. The speaker snaps in place when you need it. When you don’t it easily separates, leaving your phone thin, light but still protected.
I’ve had the pleasure of being able to review LaCie’s 4TB Rugged Mini, and I love it! A Portable external hard drive, the Rugged Mini is everything you saw from the original (and larger) LaCie Rugged Raid, but in a smaller design that maximizes its portability, all while giving you a nice flashy orange bumper that protects the device from being dropped. While the Larger Rugged dons both a Thunderbolt connection option, and a USB 3.0 connection which obviously connects to your computer, the Rugged Mini stuck to having just a single USB 3.0 port which sits at the top of…
Isn’t it aggravating when you’re working on something important, the power goes out, and you lose your laptop’s internet connectivity? Sure, you could use your mobile phone as a hotspot if you’ve got a tethering data plan, but if your modem and router were plugged into the APC Network Battery Backup + Mobile Power Pack, you wouldn’t have to.
Ventev has been rolling out some thoughtfully designed and ever-so-useful external batteries. One of their latest is the Ventev Powercell 6000c Battery Charger with Lightning Cable. It packs a large battery into a slim attractive design, has a standard USB port, AND a permanently connected Lightning Connector and you have something that deserves a place in your gear bag.
Running shoes are the most subjective item to review, since everything from shoe type to foot size to personal preference become factors in judging the shoe. Having said that, I feel pretty comfortable saying the Brooks Pureflow 5 are probably the best running shoe I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing in the last several years. Read on to learn why!
Not too long ago, I took a look at the composite case for my 12-inch MacBook from Urban Armor Gear. Now UAG has been kind enough so send a sample of their case for the iPad Pro. While similar in many ways, the UAG iPad Pro Case has some features unique to it. The case has a rubberized shell, similar to the corner material found on their MacBook case, but it adds a 5-position kickstand and a pencil holder into the mix, making for a very interesting offering. When I reviewed the MacBook case, I was extremely sensitive to the…
Just when I thought that I’d seen almost everything with regard to high-end headphones, along come the Torque t402v Premium Customizable On-Ear and Over-Ear Headphones to show me that I know nothing, Jon Snow.
I’ve made no secret of my love for everything Waterfield. One of my favorite bags from them is also one of their newest: the Waterfield Field Muzetto. Made from waxed, cotton canvas and full-grain, distressed leather, it takes the Muzetto design that I love and gives it an entirely new look and feel. And it comes in three different sizes!
It’s been exactly eight years since I unboxed my first Litter-Robot and reviewed it. Since then, I have convinced several friends and family members to buy one, I’ve purchased two more, and I’ve given the two older versions I had to friends with cats — all of these Litter-Robots are still going strong!
DreamScreen brings your TV to life in ways you’ve never experienced before. As great as the iPad Air 2 is, it’s the apps and accessories that really make Apple’s tablet stand out. The Moshi MetaCover System is one of those accessories that will sneak up and take you by surprise. It protects your iPad while making the tablet usable in situations where it would otherwise be a bit cumbersome at best. To get the most functionality out of the MetaCover you will want to not only pick up the cover and case itself but also get the Wall and Magnetic Mounts that are sold separately. It is a bummer that the company…
Sleep and I have a sometimes erratic relationship. Some nights I deal with insomnia, and I might sleep 4 or 5 hours at best; other nights I’ll need to catch up on sleep so badly that I’ll pass out for 12 or more hours. Ideally, I should get 8 hours sleep per night. Obviously, what I’ve been doing isn’t ideal.
At CES 2016 we met with Maroo Audio. The company, which makes mobile device accessories, is breaking into the crowded audio market and decided to do so in a big way. It is so crowded that they are initially going after a specific and often underserved market: women. Their ICE and GEM Collections are, in fact, specifically designed for women. The two collections Maroo Audio are initially offering are both sized and designed for the female ear and, they hope, aesthetic. In order to accommodate smaller ears, the piece that goes into the ear canal is smaller than you will…
If you happened to read my review last year about Master & Dynamic’s corded MH40 Headphones last September, you know how much I LOVE the brand, and the only downside being I wanted a Bluetooth option. Well, it seems as if they heard me because late last month they sent me over a pair of their MW60 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones to try out, and they’ve easily continued their reputation as my favorite new headphone brand! The MW60’s are everything I’ve already spoken about that the MH40 featured, from their lambskin leather headband and accents, down to the steel and aluminum…
We’ve looked at most of the cases in the Incipio [Performance] Series line of iPhone 6 cases. Now it’s time for the most substantial and protective case in the line. The Incipio [Performance] Series Level 5 Dual Layered Drop Protection For iPhone 6S is $49.99 and is serious about protection. It ships with a holster and includes screen protection. To review, each case in this series of five different levels of protection offers something a little bit different. The Level 1 case is the lightest and simplest of the bunch. It is also the least expensive. From there it goes…
There’s an old adage that says if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. If I followed it, this would be a very, very short review. It’s not that the Adidas Fit Smart is BAD, per se…it’s just that the handful of useful features don’t outweigh the major flaws.
A once successful Kickstarter program, I finally had the opportunity to try out the Powerstick Mosaic Powerstream, and honestly, I have mixed reviews in regards to it. Designed to be a tool to give you more storage, the Mosaic is essentially a wireless external hard drive that will get you through a long flight by allowing you to stream your media directly through the Mosaic. The model I received is the 16gb version which means I didn’t actually stream very much. My only issue with the Powerstick Mosaic is the fact they even have a 16gb version. Now granted, not…
Let’s face is, if you have an iPhone, chances are you’ve come across a friend with an Android device who brags on and on (cough Judie) about how their devices have external memory that is a MUST. Well what would you say if I told you that there’s a portable USB flash drive for your iDevice that can do the same thing? The iPocket Drive is essentially an external hard drive for your photos and media. Since Apple has a firm hatred towards external memory, the best option we have in terms of external storage is expandable memory. Essentially doing…
We’ve looked at the Incipio Performance Series Levels 1, 2, and 3 cases. We looked at the Level 3 Folio too. Now its time to look at the big boys in the new Incipio lineup. The first heavy-duty protection case worthy of mention is the Incipio [Performance] Series Level 4 Dual Layered Drop Protection for iPhone 6S, at $44.99.
We recently looked at the Incipio Performance Series Levels 1,2, and 3 cases. The company also offered the Level 3 as a folio-style case. If you want good protection, the ability to carry a card or three, and love a folio-style case, the Incipio [Performance] Series Level 3 Folio Superior Drop Protection with Storage for iPhone 6s is for you!
We review a lot of Bluetooth speakers here at Gear Diary, in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and beyond, but none quite like the Fugoo Style XL. At $279.99, the Fugoo Style XL is certainly not the smallest speaker on the market, but it’s certainly one of the loudest, and stylish ones. If you’ve followed any of Fugoo’s other product including their popular Sports model, you know that they are notorious for creating Bluetooth speakers that are rugged and have a long lasting battery life. The Fugoo XL certainly means what they say in regards to XL as the 11.33…
