Spb TV for Symbian S60 Review

A while ago, I ranted on a Symbian forum about what a piece of cr disappointment the Nokia N96 was, and how it’d put me off Nokia smartphones forever. Until a recent firmware update, the N96 was slow, buggy and practically unusable. It creaks so much, I’ve actually come to think of the squishy casing as a feature – use it as an expensive stress ball, and it’s entertaining; the built-in DVB-H TV tuner is essentially useless anyway. Given the vitriol, you can imagine that it’d take a lot to get me interested in using the N96 again. Spb TV…

About Judie and Dan

Hi, I’m Judie Lipsett Stanford, Gear Diary’s founder, co-owner, and Editor in Chief. I started as a product reviewer in late 1999 when I answered a “looking for a software reviewer” request at the now-defunct smaller.com. By mid-2000, I was an occasional reviewer at The Gadgeteer. Within six months, I had become Julie Strietelmeier’s writing partner. For the next six years, I had the privilege of being part of The Gadgeteer’s enormous growth from a well-regarded enthusiasts’ site into a worldwide recognized authority on gadgets, gizmos, and accessories. In fact, in 2006, The Gadgeteer was recognized as one of CNET’s…

I have a large DVD collection.  I am not yet all that excited about investing in Blu-ray where I get to pay twice as much for each new title.  Although many HD televisions perform certain image upconvert functions (to improve the way standard TV and DVD images appear on the higher-resolution HD display), they don’t necessarily perform that function very well.  Enter the Oppo DV-981HD DVD Player.  The 981HD was introduced a while back with some state of the art features for the time at a moderate price.  I recently got the opportunity to work with this player and put…

Flamingo Music Wired Earphones Review” They Only Look out of This World

Some of you may know that I am sort of the headphones and headset guy around here.  I have reviewed quite a number of both consumer based, as well as, higher end headphones, earphones, headsets, and pretty much anything else that can pump audio and music directly into your brain.  We’ve looked at in-the-ear, out-of-the-ear, over-the-ear, even around-the-ear.  Frankly, I thought I had seen it all…the good, the bad, and even some of the ugly.  Then I came across the Flamingo Music Earphones, a new wired music solution which, frankly, stopped me in my tracks.  Their EarClick system, which allows…

[THIS is a monster post with lots of photos – so give your browser some spinning wheel time!] GearDiary was invited to join traditional media and automobile journalists to experience the launch of the redesigned Ford Focus and Ford Sync™. Hosted in Seattle, Washington by Ford Motor Company and Microsoft, the program included significant drive time with the Focus vehicle, demonstration of the Sync technology and a visit to the Microsoft campus to view the House of the Future.
