A few weeks ago we took a look at the BodyGuardz Armor Carbon Fiber for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. While it doesn’t guard from drops or bumps, the Armor does protect the entire back of my iPad from scratches. I like that and now use my iPad sans case more often than ever.
On Cyber Monday the company offered some steep discounts on other products so I ordered a few, including a pre-order for protecting the Amazon Kindle touch. It came in the other day and I just put it on my Kindle. Here’s quick look.
From Boduguardz:
BodyGuardz Armor Carbon Fiber is the ultimate in expression and protection for your Amazon Kindle Touch 3G. Each carbon fiber skin is custom designed to fit your Amazon Kindle Touch 3G and provide tough scratch protection.
Made from a strong PVC based film, Armor Carbon Fiber is simple to install and can be easily removed. The carbon fiber pattern is stylish and smooth to the touch. Armor Carbon Fiber is very thin and will not add bulk to your Amazon Kindle Touch 3G.
Included in every pack is a BodyGuardz ScreenGuardz screen protector to ensure maximum coverage. Thin, tough and durable, Armor Carbon Fiber lets you relax, knowing your Amazon Kindle Touch 3G is protected.
This protection kit comes with four different decal pieces to protect the back of the Kindle touch as well as a screen protector. The application of the carbon fiber decal is the same as it was on the iPad. The only difference here is that there are four different pieces and, thanks to the carbon fiber design, it takes a bit of effort to ensure that the graphics on the decal line up properly.
I started out by applying the small thin piece at the top but went back a bit later and reversed the order, first applying the main body sheet.
I then applied the three remaining smaller pieces.
The end result is that the entire back and a portion of the top section are now protected. Moreover, thanks to the carbon fiber texture of the decal it is easier than ever to get and keep a grip on the device.
It is worth noting that I opted to not use the screen protector since I’ve never had much luck with applying this type of self-adhering screen protector. No matter how hard I try it seems to have bubbles in a bit of dust. That is exactly what happened here.
Overall I’m quite pleased with the BodyGuardz Armor Carbon Fiber for the Kindle touch. As a result I’ll continue to carry up my Kindle touch without a case.
Instead, I’ll continue to use the awesome Waterfield Slipcase we reviewed a few years ago and I have been using since the Kindle touch arrived. It has seen a ton of use and still looks brand new!

MSRP: $29.95
What I Like: Looks and feels great; Offers excellent back protection
What Needs Improvement: Had a terrible time trying to install the screen protector; Scratch protection only, these won’t actually save your device if you drop it
