  53. It’s obvious, to me, that they are going to be using something other than Google Maps and now it’s all but confirmed that there is SOME change to Maps with the new icon. We’ll see what they say. I bet they use Open Street Map for the data.

  67. LOL, I set up a friend’s MBP on his new wireless network…the MBP was an “older” model, a couple years old…I wonder if I can persuade him to sell it to me cheap if he upgrades soon? I’ve been itching to get on the Apple bandwagon too. 😉

  81. I’d have done that when I got my Dell XPS 15. Work would have let me too….however they were too expensive and the new Air’s weren’t out when I had to pick what I wanted so I got my Dell. (work provided machine)

  95. Not turn by turn, if you mean where it speaks to you. The turn by turn it did have was integrated into maps, and it would tell you as you went next step, next step, telling you where to turn and what to do. It was pretty straightforward, and I never had an issue with it because it worked extremely well. This new way though, looks fantastic!

Please fill me in. I only skimmed through here and did NOT see the keynote but it looks like both OSX and iOS do not have significant major improvements except for built in apps. Siri got a much needed upgrade, and Navigation pretty much headlining iOS 6? New MBP’s look great.

Correction, please fill me in your favorite new features..I know Dan is loving the all the built in Voice Recog

  100. The store is now up. The Ethernet Adapter should just be included….NOT $30 Extra….I’d order an adapter if I bought one….at least on the 15 inch.

  101. I know, I’m just funnin’ with you. 😉 The ubiquitous voice tech though sounds like it could be extraordinarily useful for multitaskers, especially if the voice recognition is improved. Nothing like “thinking aloud” and reducing the tedium of a keyboard of sorts.

  102. I was able to get the 0%. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Sent from my iPad

  103. Thing is, I have NEVER used the ethernet adapter on my MBP from last year … never.

  104. This change is going to cost Google $$$ … their biggest mobile map users are iPhone and iPad … then Android well below.

  105. I like the Airs but I want the large disk storage I get in an MBP.
Oh by the way – map data comes from Tom Tom. big disappointment for me since I feel TT data is really inferior in the U.S. To Navteq data.

  106. Do you have a source on that? I think Google is going to be ok not having that… 😉

  107. You aren’t an IT guy though. For me….it’s kind of something I gotta have. Sometimes there is no other way. At least this one IS Thunderbolt and not shackled by USB’s bandwidth.
