Path for Windows Enters Open Beta

Path took a little while to make its way onto Windows Phone but today it’s officially available albeit as an open beta. Path is a mobile social network billed as ” the trusted place for your personal life. It’s where you can be yourself, stay close to the people who matter most and share life instead of links..”

Escort SmartCord Live! Brings Smarts to My Passport Max

Escort’s Passport Max is the best radar detector I have ever used. It looks great, sounds good, and works extremely well — signaling only if there’s a real issue. (Read my review, and keep an eye out for Judie’s “second look” post!) I was, however, missing the active real-time connection with traffic information. The Escort SmartCord Live! fixes that.

9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek for iPad Review

G5 Entertainment and Artifex Mundi has a great recent track-record of hidden object puzzle adventure games, and they continue with the release of 9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek for iPad and iPhone. The game tells the story of a reporter lost in a mysterious town in the 1950s and the friend who investigates!

Technology Predictions for 2014

Technology Predictions for 2014 are here and it’s a predictable theme – new ways to offer the most popular tech. We put a lot of value in technology and media, so we don’t feel important unless we’re doing something with it…and quickly. Here are some predictions for tech trends in 2014.

If you love the Chevy Corvette, then we’ve got an amazing giveaway just for you. While attending NAIAS 2014, we received this Corvette Press Kit. It includes a USB Drive full of info, three cool pins, and a special collector’s box. We even got a model of the car in hot red. Here’s how you can win it!

Want the Maserati of Tablet Stands? Check Out the FLOTE m2!

One of Elana’s most oft-used phrases is, “You get what you pay for.” In the case of the pricey FLOTE m2 Floor Stand tablet stand that is indeed true. What you’ll pay for is the best tablet stand I have ever used, and I suspect that will remain true for quite some time.

Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition for iPad Now Available

Back in early December I talked with Ossian Studios head Alan Miranda about the release of The Shining Sun, and my single concern was that Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition was due for release just before Christmas. That didn’t happen, and TSS enjoyed time in the spotlight … but now the ultimate classic RPG has arrived on the iPad!

Our Visit With Element Case- A CES 2014 Booth Tour

Judie and I have long been fans of Element Case and their various offerings. After our visit with them during CES 2014, that is more true than ever. Their cases are gorgeous, their offerings are expanding, and their philosophy permeates every aspect of their brand. Here are some images and videos from our time at the booth.

2014 Fiat 500L – Tell Me How You Really Feel About It

Usually when I show up in the review vehicle of the week, friends and family freely express their opinions on the new model and I find these to mostly be favorable but sometimes polarized with love it/hate it reactions. Not so with the new 500L from Fiat where nearly everyone told me it was just flat out ugly.

Jabra Goes Big… and Small at CES 2014

At CES 2013 Jabra showed off the upcoming Revo and Revo Wireless on-ear headphones. I have, and love, both! This year at CES 2014 Jabra went large with the Jabra Solemate Max and they went small with the Jabra Rox Wireless. We checked both out during our CES 2014 Booth Tour.

Out of Print Clothing Keeps Book Covers Relevant with Style

It’s no secret that I love books. If someone you know has a soft spot for true book geekery, and you’re looking for something special for them, check out Out of Print clothing, where book covers and book themes are the inspiration for t-shirts, tote bags, iPhone cases and more! Even better, every purchase made means a book donated to Books for Africa, so your love of “1984” can bring you intellectual joy AND change the world a little bit. There’s a decent assortment of titles so far, all classics, so be sure to check them out!

Parrot MiniDrone Takes Flight at CES 2014

During CES 2014 Parrot introduced the MiniDrone. The small, less-expensive app-powered drone makes an immediate impression and looks like a ton of fun! Connect it to a smartphone or a tablet with Bluetooth Smart and watch it take flight. I asked the “pilot” to use Judie as a landing zone for the MiniDrone. They were happy to comply.

UBOOLY Makes Smart Devices Fun and Educational

UBOOLY is the “Smart Toy That Makes Your Smart Device Come to Life”. That’s the company tag line, and it’s also true. We dropped by the booth during CES 2014 and got the scoop. We are looking forward to hearing what Carly’s son Wyatt thinks. Check out our video look at the CES UBOOLY booth!

2013 Was The Year of the Chromebook – Did You Get One?

If someone suggested to me a year ago we would be looking back at data showing that more than 21% of laptops sold last year were Chromebooks … I would have laughed heartily in their face. I mean, to me these were pretty much netbooks that only run a browser. Yet that is the reality at the end of 2013.

Chip-Chick and a Robot Share a CES 2014 Moment

It was only a matter of time before our friend Helena from Chip-Chick found someone with whom she could truly relate. Thankfully we were there with her at CES 2014 to capture the moment. You can check out Chip-Chick’s great content here; when you visit, make sure to wish Helena and her new pal the best! 😉
