As a recent iPhone user, I jumped at the chance to take a look at Moshi’s new iGlaze Luxe case for the iPhone 6 and 6s. I like slim cases, but it must protect the phone. The iGlaze Luxe does just that and looks pretty cool at the same time, thanks to the soft inner liner and the metal outside.

Moshi iGlaze Luxe Case for the iPhone is Cool Metal Genius!

I have always been a fan of slim cases. Moshi’s iGlaze Luxe is a metal bumper case that also includes a inner rubber bumper, in grey and black. I was sent the Alloy Orange one, but it’s also available in Titanium Gray or Satin Gold (which looks close to Apple’s Rose Gold on the 6s and 6s Plus). The metal is precision milled aircraft grade aluminum. The inner frame feels like rubber and the back is made from crystal clear acrylic with cutouts for the camera. All buttons are metallized and the case itself is designed to need no tools for installation. Just pull the bottom off and pull the top portion of the case off the inner liner with the acrylic back. To put the phone in the case, put the acrylic on the back first, followed by the inner liner, then slide the upper portion of the case on and put the bottom back on.

The cut outs on the bottom provide adequate clearance for the lightning cable and headphones, although the stock iPhone ear pods need some finessing. Headsets with longer stress relief on the cable should work better than the stock, although I rarely use wired head with mine.

Unlike other iPhone cases that use metal, this one seems to work just fine and did nothing to the phone’s signal when in the case.

Oh and the iGlaze Luxe is compatible with both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6s.

Conclusion

The Moshi iGlaze Luxe has become my favorite case after the Incipio case my work gave me with my phone. The phone stays slim, but is well protected and the bright orange case looks pretty cool to me. At $44.99 it’s well priced for the quality of the case.  It’s no OtterBox, but it will keep your phone safe from the every day bumps.

What I liked

  • Slim
  • Well Protected
  • Looks Good

What I didn’t care for

  • Be nice if there were more color options

MSRP: $44.99 from Moshi.

  1. Thanks for reviewing this! So far it’s the only review I can find of the iGlaze Luxe. That being said, I have a few questions I’m hoping you can answer:

    (1) Moshi has told me you can install the bumper without the acrylic backplate. Does the rubber inner and metal still fit just as snugly?
    (2) I understand that the rubber inner comes with its own mute switch, of sorts. Could you comment on how that works?
    (3) The thickness of this product (0.39″) indicates that it’s actually decently thick, compared to other similar bumpers/cases. Does it feel a little bulky?

    Thanks!
