NVIDIA’s SHIELD TV Can Now Be Controlled by Google Home

If you’ve read my previous review about the NVIDIA SHIELD, then you know how much I love it. The ability to watch YouTube, DirecTV Now, HBO, Netflix, as well as play games, makes it a must-have device not just in my home but also when I travel.

But the brand has just announced a new compatibility that is certainly worth checking out.

NVIDIA’s SHIELD TV Can Now Be Controlled by Google Home

If you are a fan of the Google Home platform, you’ll be happy to know that all of the Google Home devices can now control your SHIELD TV from anywhere in your home, as long as they are connected to your WiFi. This makes it possible to do everything from asking your device to “turn on Netflix” to giving more detailed account access instructions such as, “ Ok Google, open Game of Thrones on Shield.”

NVIDIA’s SHIELD TV Can Now Be Controlled by Google Home

Google Home already had the ability to work with the NVIDIA SHIELD as is, giving you basic controls, but with the latest update, and the fact that winter is coming, you can now sit on your couch, without reaching over to the remote on the table and do everything from dim your lights to order a pizza, all with the help of your Google Assistant.

If you’re looking to expand your connected home to a platform that’s open to virtually unlimited possibilities, one where with the simple phrase of “Hey Google” or “Ok Google”, you can get things done on your television, on your desktop, and even on your phone, you’ll want to check out . Below are some basic commands that work with the SHIELD TV that make it so useful:
