CCELL Sandwave Battery Review: Small, Colorful, and Convenient for 510 Thread Cartridges

The Lowdown

We love products that are simple but smartly designed, and the CCELL Sandwave Battery fits that bill. It is a small, simple product, but the convenience it offers, the ability to choose from three heat settings, the range of colors, and the fact that it is under $20 make it a winner.

Cons

The CCELL Sandwave battery is a small, inexpensive way to vape 510 thread cartridges. Available in various colors, this battery offers the convenience of simply dropping the cartridge in place and going. Yet, despite the small, simple design, the Sandwave also offers a choice of three different temperatures. Here’s a look.

What's included with the CCELL Sandwave Battery

The Sandwave is small, measuring just 2.36H x 1.5W x 0.64D” but houses a 400mAh battery that offers plenty of sessions before needing to be recharged. When you do need to charge, the included cable easily connects to the USB-C port on the bottom.

The last CCELL battery for 510 cartridges we’ve previously covered was made from metal. The Sandwave, by contrast, is covered in silicon. That gives it a soft, comfortable feel in your hand while adding durability.

And as a bonus, you can choose from various colors, including midnight black, mint green, marine green, tropical yellow, lavender, and coral pink.

Comfort, Perfected: Featuring a stimulating silicone wave grip and discreet, compact body, Sandwave fits perfectly in hand, providing a firm and ergonomic hold, allowing every inhale to provide true bliss.

Three design elements set the Sandwave apart from most 510 cartridge batteries.

Drop and Vape

Most 510 cartridge batteries require you to screw the cartridge into place. It isn’t a complicated process, but CCELL found an even more straightforward approach.

The Sandwave ships with two metal “caps” that screw into the threads on the cartridge. Once the “cap” is in place, all that is required is to drop the cartridge into the Sandwave. Strong magnets inside the battery grab the metal cap and securely hold the cartridge.

And because CCELL includes two caps in the package, you can have two cartridges set up and ready to vape and then swap between them in seconds. It is a brilliant design that adds a bit of convenience you never knew you wanted. Once you try this system, we think you’ll be sold.

Choose Your Temp with the CCELL Sandwave Battery

Most small batteries designed to work with 510 cartridges offer one power setting. Despite its small size and simple design, the Sandwave has a small toggle on top that allows you to choose between three.

The lowest power setting is 2.8V and delivers rich flavor. The middle setting is 3.2V and is the middle ground that, we suspect, will appeal to most people. If you want more powerful hits from the vape, you can select the highest power setting of 3.6V.

We’ve tried all three settings and find that the lowest or middle settings will suffice for most cartilages and situations.

We suspect most people will consistently gravitate to one of the three but appreciate that the different options are all available and that switching between settings is as simple as sliding the button in one direction or the other.

On/Off Buttons? We Don’t Need No Stinking Buttons

Finally, it is worth noting that the Sandwave is inhale-activated. That means you don’t need to worry about turning the battery on or off. Pop a cartridge in a charged Sandwave and draw on the cartridge. The battery will do the rest!
