Power banks are all the rage these days, but I think I’ve found my favorite. The Dark Energy Reservoir is an 8,000 mAh mobile charger that is very small, but it packs a heck of a lot of juice. Not only is it small, it can also charge two devices simultaneously; you can purchase the Reservoir for $129.
A year ago I wasn’t familiar with Velodyne, a company that has been producing speakers for quite some time and recently moved into the headphone market. I reviewed the company’s vQuiet noise canceling headphones and was impressed. When the opportunity to review the top-of-the-line Velodyne vTrue Studio Headphones came my way I jumped. Are they worth the $399 price tag?
For most of us, the name Lamborghini evokes images of power, style and phenomenal design. So when we learned that Tonino Lamborghini, son of the great automobile designer, was releasing a line of in ear headphones we took notice. The Lamborghini Quantum EL-01-R Headphones are the most affordable of the three offerings that are coming this spring; here’s a look.
As someone who likes to use my phone caseless, the Waterfield Smartphone Suede Jacket Smartphone Case is a great way to keep it protected when it’s not in my hand. The Suede Jacket is a very simple design, made from a combination of suede wrapped around the phone, with an optional mesh pocket on the outside.
If you do a lot of writing on your iPad, and find the on-screen keyboard to be insufficient, the Belkin QODE Thin Type Keyboard Case for iPad Air is the iPad keyboard for you. This keyboard cover is thin, light, and gets incredible battery life. Perhaps most importantly, it offers a phenomenally good typing experience that rivals most laptop keyboards.
You have a luggage tag on your carry-on or your checked luggage, right? But can your luggage tag attract attention because it’s so brightly colored, tell you when your bag is nearby, alert you when it has been moved away, tell you where it last was, or tell you the temperature? Because of the Calypso Crystal Calypso Tag, mine can.
If your iPad is more than just a toy you’ll want to check out the Booqpad for iPad Air. Among the most flexible cases we have seen, it combines a protective folio with the iPad on one side and a paper tablet on the other. The iPad and protective shell can even be separated and used on their own.
The Une Bobine from Fuse Chicken offers a flexible yet durable iPhone 5 accessory cable with a USB at one end and a special port at the other that fits most phones with cases on them. Une Bobine features a “virtually indestructible”, yet bendable metal-wrapped cord and provides flexible, convenient options as a tactical, creative stand/tripod.
The metal body of the HTC One M8 is a standout feature; it feels great, but it’s quite slippery. Covering such a gorgeous phone in any old case or skin seems like a travesty, but it needs something to give it grip. Toast has stepped up to the plate with their real wood Toast Cover; do metal and wood mix?
Here’s something different — a Windows laptop that can handle just about every work scenario imaginable without looking like a dowdy, chunky, black box. The HP EliteBook Folio 1040 G1 takes several style points from Apple, and in the process becomes one of the thinnest, lightest, sleekest and best-looking notebook PCs I’ve handled. What makes it special?
While the basis of The Ghost Archives: Haunting of Shady Valley story is fairly typical for the genre – you are an agent investigating a haunted mining town whose inhabitants disappeared mysteriously and need your help to free them – the story itself and game wrapped around it are fun and engaging. Check out the free demo and see what you think!
If you like a folio style case protecting your iPhone 5S, and you don’t want to break the bank purchasing one, then you will want to check out the Incipio LGND for iPhone 5S. This case, available in four colors, has an MSRP of under $35. Slim and light, it offers excellent protection and a built-in stand.
The iFrogz Tadpole Bluetooth mini speaker does not put out big, bold, quality sound. It doesn’t get great battery life, it’s not waterproof, and it doesn’t double as a speakerphone. It doesn’t have Bluetooth 4.0 or NFC. So the tadpole isn’t worth your time or money, right? Actually no, in the right situation it’s a rather compelling device. Here’s why.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a huge beautiful screen that puts the iPhone 5S to shame. I was worried enough about protecting mine that I kept the protective shipping plastic in place. It reduced the clarity and touch sensitivity but helped guarantee the screen stayed safe until a better option arrived; the ZAGG Glass Screen Protector is that better option.
We have looked at a number of cases and skins for the HTC One M8, but most of them have been fairly pedestrian and plastic. A premium metal phone deserves a premium case, and that’s what Noreve aims to deliver with their Traditional Leather Case for the HTC One M8!
When it comes to flash memory, I’ve always believed that you get what you pay for. Saving five bucks isn’t worth it if you end up with a slow and balky dud. So when I heard that the PNY Turbo 128 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive was available for under $50, I was skeptical to say the least.
The N2560 Network Attached Storage system by Thecus is a mid-level NAS system and it packs an Intel Atom-based Dual-Core processor as well as 2GB of DDR3 RAM. It’s got HDMI and SPDIF Audio outputs on the back for direct media streaming, and can hold 2 HDDs. The N2560 is expected out in May/June 2014 and will retail for $339.
What if you could have all the good looks and great protection of a Speck CandyShell case for iPhone 5S and significantly improve the sound? That’s what the Speck CandyShell Amped for iPhone 5S promises — and delivers. Until you examine it a bit more closely, the case looks like any other CandyShell case. It, however, is hiding a secret.
I’ve used the Samson Meteor Microphone since first doing the review three years ago. (Read it!) I love the retro look, the ease-of-use, and quality recordings it produces. Now the company has released the Samson Meteorite. A small, USB condenser microphone, it is inexpensive, easy to use, and great if you want something more than what your computer microphone offers.
Think back to the last time your iPhone 5’s battery let you down, and how depressing it was to see that red band across the bottom half of your battery icon. Everyone who owns an iPhone has at least one ‘insufficient battery’ situation, and those are exactly the times when the Incipio offGRID Pro shines.
Do you occasionally travel overseas? Is your mobile phone US carrier locked? Do you want to save money while you travel by using a local SIM, but you also need to stay connected with your local number? What if you just want to buy an unlocked smartphone for under $250? These are all good reasons to get the verykool s470.
