Fujitsu’s All-New ScanSnap iX1600 and ScanSnap iX1400: Easily Digitize Your Workflow

I’ve been using Fujitsu ScanSnap scanners for years. My first scanner was already an excellent device, but each new model has added features and speed that took excellent products and made them even better. Now Fujitsu has announced two new models — the ScanSnap iX1600 and the ScanSnap iX1400. Both models are powerful, and they will make digitizing your workflow easier than ever.

Gear Diary’s Best of CES 2021 Awards

This year’s CES may have been completely virtual and quite different from what we are used to, but it still served as an excellent introduction to the new tech that we can all look forward to in the coming year as we carry on with pandemic life. After going through the avalanche of the products that were introduced at CES, we have culled out the ones that we found most innovative and intriguing. So in alphabetical order, we present you with Gear Diary’s Best of CES 2021 Awards!

IK Multimedia Introduces the UNO Synth Pro and UNO Synth Pro Desktop

Back in late 2018, IK Multimedia surprised vintage synth lovers with their Uno Synth – a tiny monophonic device with capacitive buttons for the keys as well as numerous functions and a few knobs. The surprise was that while Uno Synth looked like a toy, it controlled and sounded like a pro-grade analog synth punching way above its price point. I have put dozens of hours into creating fun sounds with the Uno Synth, and so was thrilled to see IK announce the follow-up – the UNO Synth Pro and UNO Synth Pro Desktop.

John Deere Highlights How Technology and Sustainability Drive Modern Farming

You might think it odd for a company like John Deere to be at CES, but after spending an hour with them yesterday, I can completely understand. Even though I’ve spent much of my adult life in an agriculturally-focused town managing a cattle ranch, I’d never paid much attention to the tech being utilized by the farmers in my area to produce food and fiber for human consumption. My eyes have now been opened.

Huawei P40 Pro+ Review: Amazing Hardware, Killer Camera, Crippled Software

For a few years now, Apple and Samsung have battled for leadership in the global smartphone market share. This is particularly obvious in regions like the US, where both brands dominate. But did you know that Chinese manufacturer Huawei is consistently in the top three as well? In fact, it was #1 in Q2 2020 — yes, the same Huawei that the US government put on an entity list in 2019, barring it from doing business with US companies like Google.

Vaonis Vespera Wants to Help You Reconnect with the Stars

Vespera, conceived as the perfect combination of a telescope and a camera, aims to make astronomy and astrophotography accessible to everyone. Telescopes can be heavy, cumbersome, and difficult to use; Vespera removes the telescope’s eyepiece and uses your mobile device as the viewfinder, in conjunction with their app. With the app, you can capture photos of galaxies, planets, nebulae, and more.

P&G’s EC30 Line Highlights Sustainability and Carbon Neutral Cleaning

If you think about the products you buy to clean yourself and your home, you’ll recognize that in many cases, the first ingredient is water and the packaging is plastic. Proctor & Gamble has created the EC30 Line to address these issues. By removing water, liquid stabilizers, and fillers, these cleaning products contain only the essential ingredients. They are sustainable, and for every EC30 product purchased, conservation projects in the US are funded.

Led Zeppelin Pinball Sounds Like a Great Way to Rock Out in 2021

Sometimes you don’t think of two things as complementary, then when you see them together, it all clicks. The first person to combine peanut butter and jelly probably got some odd looks, and we all know bacon makes everything better. Another combo you might not consider, but that works surprisingly well? Led Zeppelin + Stern Pinball = Led Zeppelin Pinball!
