For most people, a typical set of everyday items includes phone, keys, wallet, maybe a notebook or pens and other small items. If you (or your child) have food allergies, an Epipen or similar product is the top item on that list. Aterica has just announced an app/case combo for EpiPens called Veta to make that everyday carrying much simpler!

They’re expanding even further this year at CES, announcing 10 new devices, from YOGA tablets and laptops to ultraportables, smartphones, and even a smartwatch/fitness tracker. You can check out their full lineup at their CES 2015 site, but here are a few of my favorites!

The Apple Watch isn’t here yet, but Standzout is ready for early adopters with their new Bandstand. It’s an Apple Watch cradle that will let you charge the watch and two USB devices at once. Motorola E on Republic Wireless Review

For the past month I’ve been reviewing the future. As it turns out, the future is cheap, reliable, and nearly indestructible. It’s not terribly flashy, but it gets the job done. The future is a Motorola E on Republic Wireless, a prepaid carrier using WiFi calling to lower the monthly cost.

Last Minute Gifts for the Scientologist in Your Life!

Did you forget to buy a gift for that Scientologist relative who shunned you as a suppressive person? Show them you care with this amazing list from Drew Magary at Deadspin, who helpfully (and bravely) read the entire Scientology Christmas Catalog so the rest of us didn’t have to.   Scientology is a scary concept, and not just for the $5,000 e-meters or L. Ron Hubbard’s singing. And after you read what Deadspin has covered, head to Amazon and buy or download a copy of “Going Clear“. It is the single most horrifying non-horror book I’ve ever read.   Via: The Scientology Christmas…

Old Mix CDs Prove Some Things Have Sadly Not Changed

I found a stack of old CDs in our attic a few weeks ago, and I was enjoying the nostalgia of listening to mix CDs I made 10-15 years ago. But as I’ve gone through the various tracks, I noticed a disturbing trend; many of the social issues being addressed in this CDs are still issues a decade later.

Uber’s Real Flaw Gets Exposed During the Sydney Hostage Crisis

I’ve never used Uber, but I am familiar with it. They’ve had their fair share of issues related to their “surge” pricing, where the price of a ride can double, triple, or even quadruple depending on demand. But their response to their surge pricing during the hostage situation in Sydney, Australia showed Uber’s true attitude towards the communities they claim to serve.

Why I Cancelled My Kindle Unlimited Subscription

A few weeks ago, I was reminiscing about my favorite science fiction book from my childhood. It was an anthology of short stories, and some intense Googling determined it was out of print. My search led me to the local library, and after poking around for just a few minutes, I canceled my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline for iPad Review

I have tested a few different styluses for my iPad, and none of them have impressed me. I was skeptical as to whether the Wacom Bamboo Stylus Fineline would be any different, but it pleasantly surprised me with it’s features and ease of use. Read on to learn what makes the Bamboo Stylus so different!

Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner Thermometer Review

The last time my son had a cold, we couldn’t determine for sure if he had a fever because he wouldn’t hold still long enough for us to keep a thermometer under his arm (or anywhere else). Not long after, we were offered the Exergen Smart Glow Temporal Scanner to review, and I knew we had to give it a shot!

Peter Pan Live! Meets 30 Rock

I am insanely excited for Peter Pan Live! After watching the previews, I am reasonably sure they raided a 70’s-era bar for Peter Pan’s clothes, Allison Williams looks less like a young man and more like a drag king, and Christopher Walken just looks lost. Funny or Die has weighed in with their take, starring Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock! Leaked ‘Peter Pan Live!’ Audition Tape with Jane Krakowski from Jane Krakowski Peter Pan Live! starring Allison Williams as the prettiest Peter Pan ever, is airing this Thursday, December 4th on NBC. Leave your bets below on whether Twitter will…

Jurassic World is Coming!

I am a huge fan of “Jurassic Park“. It easily ranks in my top five movies of all time, even if the sequels were a little weaker. So yes, I am quite excited for “Jurassic World”, but the trailer has lowered my enthusiasm from “HECK YEA” to “Yea…hopefully they don’t screw this up.”

Lifeproof Cases Proves Customer Service Isn’t Dead!

Sarah has had a bad run of iPhones drowning due to toddler curiosity. Luckily, a friend of ours was generous enough to pass along a Lifeproof Nuud case that he wasn’t using anymore, and her phone has thankfully not drowned in a while. But it still needed more protection, and that’s where the company’s excellent customer service came into play.

Michael’s Proves Those Coupons Are a Raw Deal

Sarah and I went to Michael’s craft store this morning to shop for frames. As we walked in, Sarah received an email offering 25% the whole store tonight, so we picked out what we liked, and Sarah planned to return during the sale. When she got there, she discovered the frames she liked had mysteriously increased in price by 15%!

Active Edge Gear-Medical Miracle or Simply a Nice Accessory?

Survival Straps, one of the big names in paracord bracelets, has recently released a new line of bracelets called Active Edge, which claim to have been enhanced with “InBalance technology” for better range of motion, strength, and recovery. I’ve been testing one of their bracelets for a few weeks now. Did my experiment of one prove to be a success?

Amazon Announces Family Library for Kindles!

Amazon announced a big Kindle update today, but the biggest new feature is probably Family Library! Basically, you can now link your household Amazon accounts (and Kindle libraries) together for sharing. This is great news for my house, where Sarah and I have each had Kindle libraries and have physically swapped devices to share books! Check out all the details on Amazon.
