This service celebrates 20 years with a return to consoles, which began on the consoles like the PlayStation 3 three years ago. Last year’s users got service access codes (e.g. on PC) when purchasing Madden NFL 25.
Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) and the Sony Entertainment Network had another outage Sunday from outside sources trying to “overwhelm” Sony’s servers. Sony stated the outage is now ended, and no personal information was accessed, which unfortunately occurred on PSN in mid-April 2011and took services out for over a month.
As expected after their announcement at E3, Sony has added Blu-ray 3D support to their latest PlayStation 4 system software update (1.75). Officially released on July 29, it’s the first prominent update on the PS4 console since April’s ShareFactory. Other new feature updates include new automatic download settings for featured content from the PlayStation®Store (with power ON or in standby) and better video playback sound quality. E3 2014 games impressed all audiences as companies concentrated on boosting their next generation game consoles. PlayStation 4 owners got a substantial system update in late April 2014 (1.70), which features several great “bells and whistles”, including Share Factory – a unique video editing tool. Action-RPG Sacred crashed onto the scene in 2004 – literally! It was unstable and buggy, but promising enough and with great support, and it hooked an audience. Sacred 2 continued to advance the genre, but since Deep Silver took over the Sacred license in 2009 little has been heard. Now we have release info – Sacred 3 arrives this summer!
In 1998 I got Thief as a birthday present. It presented a morally ambiguous first-person world with choices and freedom, and the ability to sneak around the world in a way no game had ever done before. The sequels were excellent.
