I love my Sonos system. I have speakers in my living room, my bedroom and even the bathroom. Now Sonos is announcing a new PLAY:5. Pre-orders start Thursday, Oct. 29 and the new speaker will be available in US stores November 20. Available in a matte black and matte white, the new Sonos PLAY:5 will retail for $499 USD.
Okay, I have a bit of an addiction when it comes to Bluetooth stereos, and I’m running out of rooms that I can put them in, but I can honestly say that the Sound Blaster Roar 2 is special and becoming my favorite.
The first JBL Flip Bluetooth speaker was a small wonder. Its audio quality put the Jawbone JamBox to shame. The second generation JBL Flip improved the sound and ditched the unique charger in favor of a universal microUSB. The JBL Flip 3 goes further by improving the sound, adding deep base and going splash-proof. It’s impressive and under $100!
My first computer speakers came from Logitech and are still going strong. My office speakers come from Logitech and fill my larger study. Now Logitech had unveiled the Logitech z533 Multimedia Speakers. A front-facing subwoofer, 2.25” full range drivers and a wired control pod for convenient power, volume and bass control combine to create huge sound for small dollars.
Just when you think that sound system you spent a couple hundred bucks on was the best on the market, you’re proven wrong again.
Summer may be almost over, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty more opportunities to spend time outdoors. Since the changing seasons can bring unpredictable conditions, when you’re outside the Scosche boomBOTTLE+ Waterproof Wireless Speaker is a great sound solution! It’s ruggedized, waterproof, and it can fit in your bike’s bottle holder or your 4×4’s cup holder!
Thonet & Vander’s Ratsel are known for their beautifully constructed audio equipment, so imagine my surprise when I received their Ratsel Multimedia Speaker System to review!
While much of their IFA press conference centered on growth of the brands covered by the Harman parent company (JBL, Harman-Kardon, AKG, Infinity, etc.), there was one announced product that I want to focus on, because I think it may ultimately be the most intriguing — the Everest headphone collection with TruNote Sound Calibration.
The Denon HEOS 1 Wireless Speaker is an attractive network and Wi-Fi connected speaker that delivers good sound anywhere in your house for $199.99. With the HEOS app, you can stream music to the speaker using a few different music services. The HEOS 1 Go Pack adds Bluetooth connectivity, splash proofing, and a 6-hour battery for $99.
Summer may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean that there won’t be plenty of opportunities to be outside listening to your favorite music. Rather than worrying that your favorite wireless speaker might get damaged by the elements, you can enjoy great sound with the rugged, waterproof, and wireless SCOSCHE boomBOTTLE+.
If you are one of the few people who still use a tablet instead of an enormous smartphone, or even if you have both, you’ll know that attempting to dock them in places like your bed, on planes, or while even just sitting right there on your desk at work, there are few options that offer up with Bracketron’s JamSpot can do.
If you’ve played with one portable bluetooth, you’ve pretty much played with them all. But then there’s The House Of Marley, and with the legacy such as theirs, you’re getting more than what you bargained for.
There are a lot of dainty beautiful Bluetooth speakers out there on the market today, but you need something a bit more rugged if you’re going to close out the summer at the beach or poolside, something that will take a splash and keep on going. So when I first unboxed the Braven BRV-PRO, I was actually pretty excited.
Boombotix’s Boombot Pro is the latest in a growing group of pocket bluetooth speakers available out on the market. Not only is the speaker made to be used on the go, but you can certainly use it while in your home.
At $100, Soundfreaq Sound Kick 2 is bound to impress. The speaker is powerful, portable, and water-resistant. Better still, while looking to update the original Soundfreaq Sound Kick speaker, the company made sure to stay focused on their main objective: small speakers offering great sound. In the process, they created a speaker that can go anywhere — including the shower.
Cambridge Audio is back with a 2.1-channel speaker base, the TV5, perfect for a reasonably priced upgrade to your home’s audio system. It’s a sleek speaker base with built-in Bluetooth for wireless music streaming. At $399, it’s a beautiful addition underneath any size TV and you won’t need an external subwoofer to make sure the bass is pumping.
Just about everyone has a portable Bluetooth speaker anymore, right? So it takes something special to set one apart from the others, and that’s what 808 Audio is trying to offer with their XS Wireless Stereo Speaker. Available in black, blue (with a black grill), or white (with a gold grill), the ~$60 speaker packs a lot of sound in a super portable package.
With the Summer in full swing, I’m at the beach or at the pool as much as possible. And as a result, I’m always playing music from Spotify or Apple Music, which can be draining to your battery. But one thing I refuse to do is to set my phone out in the sun and charge it.
The other day I was carrying a backpack with my JBL Clip speaker clipped to one shoulder strap. Someone asked me what it was and was impressed when I explained that it let me keep my music with me all the time. The new JBL Clip+ goes one better for the same sub-$60 now that it has a splashproof design.
We’ve reviewed the UE Boom, UE Boom Mini, and UE MegaBoom Bluetooth speakers. Each and everyone one has impressed us with the quality, the durability, and the sound. And each has gotten better over time thanks to OTA updates from Ultimate Ears. Now comes the diminutive, sub-$100 UE ROLL Bluetooth Speaker. It too knocks it (way out!!) out of the park. The UE ROLL is the most affordable speaker yet to make an appearance in the company lineup. And yet, despite an MSRP of just $99, this speaker sounds amazing and packs in great features. That alone makes it worth…
I recently finished my home bar and began searching for some small speakers to play through my laptop or iPad. The opportunity to review the Samson Meteor M2 speakers came about so I jumped on it. The $149.99 Samson Meteor M2 speaker combines an old school design style with great sound perfect for desktops, laptops, and tablets.
