If you’re like me, you’ve grown accustomed to washing your hands after going outside. I never knew how many doors and buttons I’ve touched between walking the dog, going to run errands, and returning home. Luckily with the KeySmart CleanKey, I can avoid touching them all.
If you’ve read my article about the Oura Air Mask, you know it’s been my everyday mask whenever I leave the house. It’s super comfortable, washable, and protects against all of the elements of COVID-19. And they now have a new color for the mask associated with a fantastic cause.
At Gear Diary, we like our readers. We think you’re awesome people, and not just because, for some strange reason, you put up with our eclectic ramblings. So we’d like to please, please, please remind you to keep safe this summer and continue to take COVID-19 seriously.
As someone who runs outside every morning, and also someone in an essential job that required me to go into a facility every day, finding a mask that promotes safety while also being comfortable has been a key. I have plenty of surgical masks and homemade masks, all of which work well in general – but for running I really needed something safe, lightweight, and comfortable. The best thing I have found so far are the masks from HappilyRunning.com, which I wholeheartedly recommend.
If you suffer from sinus pain, you’ve probably tried everything from nasal sprays to hot compresses trying to get the pain to stop so you could continue to function. Carly gave the Tivic Health ClearUp device a try last year to manage her sinus pain, and she had excellent results. As a Father’s Day gift for one of our readers, we have a ClearUp to give away!
A lot is going on in our world today. Regardless of how much we’d like things to go back to how they used to be, at the current moment, it’s best to protect yourself from the Coronavirus with a face mask when you step out of your front door. Why not do it with a reusable mask that’s just as comfortable as it is functional?
If the thought of poop particles on your toothbrush doesn’t give you pause, maybe the knowledge that blood, viruses, and other bodily fluids (found in your mouth) also end up on your toothbrush should. That’s all pretty gross, and the Lumio UV Self-Cleaning Sonic Toothbrush would like to propose a solution.
We’re all going through the pandemic together, yet in many ways, many of us have never felt more alone. Money worries, employment woes, health fears, cabin fever, and anger at this situation, in general, can result in irrational arguments with your partner or other quarantine-mates, angst, malaise, a general sense of depression, and anxiety attacks. Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Rootd wants to help.
I can’t imagine a world in which I couldn’t read anything put in front of me (assuming it was in a language I understood, of course), but for many people that is a reality. Whether because of dyslexia, illiteracy, moderate vision impairment, reading fatigue, or aphasia, many people can’t do something I take for granted. OrCam Read is here to help.
Feet are incredibly important. That seems obvious, but it’s something people don’t always consider-if your feet have taken a beating, it impacts your knees, hips, and back… Enter Telic Recovery Footwear, designed to keep your feet happy after a long day of activity. We tested the Apres-Ski Recovery Boot, even though it’s been too warm for skiing this winter!
I’m a huge fan of Casio digital watches. They’re by far my favorite watches, and while the venerable F-91W isn’t my favorite (that would be the AE-1200, aka the “Casio Royale”), what the Solid State Watch is doing to the F-91W is horrifying, even before you get to the eye-popping price they’ve attached to it on Kickstarter.
Most nights (and more often days) I dread cooking for myself. I’ve heard that meal plans can reduce the urge to spend money going out to restaurants, so when I found the opportunity to check out Veestro, a Vegan meal subscription plan, I was eager to see how it would fare for a person who’s never been a Vegan.
Health, fitness, and tech are an interesting mix. On the one hand, basic biology hasn’t changed since well before the first phone was invented. On the other, as technology improves rapidly, there’s always a new way to spin getting into shape.
Breathing is something we take for granted most of the time, up until something alters the environment like pollution or a fire. Then breathing becomes painfully important, and everyone walks around in masks that make them look like they’re playing Bane at a ComicCon. Ao Air has a solution that’s healthier and far more attractive with Atmos.
Another CES has come and gone, and as we have in the past, we’ve sorted through hundreds upon hundreds of products to bring you the ones we thought were the most exciting, useful, disruptive, or clever. Take a look at our Best of CES 2020 award picks, and see what you think!
We’re here at CES 2020 doing everything we can to bring Gear Diary readers updates on all the exciting new and improved products we’re seeing. But it takes more than just being armed with a phone and a computer to survive the week. Here’s how we’re staying awake, staying healthy, and staying connected!
This is a sponsored post; we received compensation from Philips, but all opinions are the author’s. For most people, sleep seems to be a precious and limited commodity. We never get enough of it, and despite many, many lectures about the importance of cutting back on screen time and other stimulants before bed, who can actually put the phone down? Philips SmartSleep platform is an ecosystem designed to make sleep better for everyone!
If you hear “start-up” and think “Silicon Valley,” then you need to expand your horizons. There are a tremendous number of places where new ideas are bringing massive improvements to how we live around the world. The Seoul Smart City and Smart Life pavilion showcased for us some very exciting ideas coming out of Korea that are worth following closely! Here are five that piqued our interest.
There are many home remedies that you might have Googled for nausea, retching, and vomiting caused by morning or motion sickness, but there’s only one that’s been clinically proven, and that’s the Reliefband.
After Reviewing the Chili Ooler Sleep System back in 2019, one thing I didn’t think I needed until the company made their announcement at CES would be a weighted blanket. The makers of world-class sleep improvement products has announced their chiliBLANKET, and here’s why it should be on your 2020 list of things to anticipate. The chiliBLANKET isn’t that cheap weighted plastic bead blanket you purchased on Black Friday as a White Elephant gift that you didn’t know exactly who might be receiving. Most blankets like these tend to increase your body temperature because of their obvious weight but specifically…
I sing the praises of my Aftershokz Air headphones to everyone I know. Every athlete should have them for times they want music but need to be aware of their surroundings. Aftershokz is constantly improving its bone conduction technology, and its latest headphones are the new Aftershokz Aeropex!
