If you play mobile games you may already know ickle, the developer of Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! and 80 Days. Over the past couple of years I have reviewed both Sorcery! and 80 Days, and am a huge fan of both games. Now they are getting ready to launch on PC and Mac this fall!
One of my favorite recent games is Divinity: Original Sin from Larian Studios, who developed my ‘Top 5 all-time’ RPG Divine Divinity. The game released on Mac & PC about a year ago to much acclaim, and is getting an enhanced edition and console release this fall. Now Larian has announced that they are working on Divinity: Original Sin 2!
Other than comments on really cool cars I am testing, I usually don’t have too many coworkers remarking on the gear I am reviewing. The first day I carried the new Razer Tactical Gaming Backpack into work, however, that changed. No sooner did I toss it down on the counter than the Razer bag became a hit.
After 24 hours of teasing, Bethesda Game Studios announced the long-awaited fourth installment of the Fallout video game franchise ahead of the full reveal at E3. Fallout 4 takes place in, you guessed it, an open-world post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland…but this time, it appears to be in post-nuclear fallout Boston! Fallout 4 will be released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
I’d planned to write about the launch of The Bard’s Tale IV on Kickstarter anyway, but today I’ve learned of an incentive that makes it a ‘must pledge’ recommendation! InXile Entertainment announced that backers in the first 24 hours of the campaign will receive a free copy of Wasteland 2, CD Projekt’s The Witcher, or Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.

This week ‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ was released, with over 1.5 million pre-orders! I pre-ordered mine through a favorite site – GreenManGaming. The main reason I love GreenManGaming? They offer a better pre-order discount than GoG.com, Steam, and other sources. There was an issue getting keys on time, but how GreenManGaming handled it made me even more loyal!

So when I heard about Windward, which takes things to the next level, I was thrilled. Now Windward is out on Steam!

The Star Wars Battlefront games released for PC and consoles back in 2004-5 were a big hit with fans, and the fun online play kept players engaged for several years. A few years ago my son and his friends were really into the webcomic Homestuck, a quirky adventure created initially in MS Paint that became quite the sensation based on the characters, setting, humor, stories and imaginative variations. Game developer Running With Scissors is no stranger to controversy, as the company name suggests! Their game ‘Postal‘ came out in 1997 when ‘Going Postal’ was fairly new and much in the public mind. Postal 2 and 3 went out of their way to offend, but now we get word that Google won’t allow Postal on the Play Store.
The Witcher 3 isn’t even out yet with a release planned for next month, yet we have just gotten word that developer CD Project Red is planning two large expansions, and has just put up for pre-order what they are calling The Witcher 3 Expansion Pass, which includes both expansions to be released over the next couple of years.
The popular Deus Ex video game series will continue with the next installment titled Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, a first-person stealth-adventure game with third-person cover elements featuring a familiar character and expanded weapon customization options.
One of the most anticipated games of the year, Batman: Arkham Knight is one of the few games I’m stoked to play this summer. I’ve been following the game since Rocksteady announced it.

Last fall the game ‘Lords of the Fallen’ was released to solid reviews, and amazement at the scope and art direction given the small size of the studios involved with the game. Since then it has become popular with hardcore RPG fans for the solid gameplay and overall sense of fun. Now the Ancient Labyrinth DLC expansion is available!
Nostalgia can be a powerful thing, especially when it is invoked through a more modern means. I loved classic sci-fi adventures such as The Journeyman Project 20+ years ago, so when I was in the midst of deciphering a puzzle in Morningstar: Descent to Deadrock, that warm feeling of revisiting a great experience washed over me.
Just over four years ago Arrowhead Game Studios released Magicka, a hybrid RPG-action-adventure game with a smirking sense of humor and loads of fun and stuff to discover. Since then they have released a bunch of DLC and two expansions, been featured in Indie/Humble bundles, and the game remains an absolute blast to play – and now we’re getting a sequel!
