Twelve South Debuts ActionSleeve for the Apple Watch

There’s a big flaw in the concept of fitness wearables; they really only work for running or biking. Weightlifting, calisthenics, boxing, and other workouts just aren’t conducive to having a watch on, and it cuts out a big chunk of the fitness market. Twelve South may have a solution with their new ActionSleeve Armband for the Apple Watch.

Runner’s Review of the Apple Watch Series 2

I stopped wearing a watch around the time cell phones became small enough to always carry, probably around 2000 or so, with a Nokia chicklet phone or a Motorola Flip phone. Only when I started running long distances and trying to track my times and paces did I start to think it might be time to actually get a GPS running watch.

Best Buy Pushes Back Apple Watch Series 2 Pre-Orders, Gives Buyers $50 Promo Code!

When the Apple Watch Series 2 went up for pre-sale at midnight PST on September 9th, the lead-times quickly slipped from September 16th to a range of the 28th – 30th. All within one hour of being available to pre-order. That is what I got with my pre-order at 3:45AM EST. However, when Best Buy put up their pre-order availability they kept it set for September 16th throughout the day on September 9th – so I pre-ordered from Best Buy and canceled my Apple order. Pre-orders remained as ‘processing’ with an expected 9/16 release date until the night of September…

Will the Apple Watch 2 Kill Other Fitness Watches?

Apple had a lot of announcements yesterday, but the one that caught my attention was the new Apple Watch 2. It now includes GPS, waterproofing, and even a model cobranded with Nike, showing that Apple has the fitness market square in the crosshairs. These are all welcome improvements, but will it have an impact in the crowded fitness tracker/fitness watch market? Let’s start by eliminating one group that won’t be buying an Apple watch: the budget conscious folks have a plethora of options available to them that offer many of the same fitness benefits without the cost of the Apple…

The public portion of the event was the keynote which clocked in at almost 2 hours and featured a top-down review of the highlights expect in what Apple identified as their four foundational  platforms – watchOS, tvOS, OS X (later rebranded as macOS) and iOS.

Add A Bit of Elegance to Your Wrist With the Nomad Strap for Apple Watch

If you have yourself an Apple Watch and have been stuck using the Sport Band, and looking for something a bit more elegant for your wrist wear, you don’t have to look any further. I’ve reviewed quite a few Apple Watch bands over the past year, many being good, but NONE quite like the Nomad Strap for Apple Watch. I’ve been rocking the band for the past few weeks and I can honestly say it’s one of the best leather bands made for the techie but trendy watch by Apple. The band itself is made of leather on both sides…

Charge Your Apple Watch in Style with the HoverDock

Since the Apple Watch has been updated to include Nightstand Mode, there are many new options for charging the watch overnight. I recently was able to review the HoverDock by Just Mobile which retails for $34.95. Basically, it is a minimalist way to charge the Apple Watch while using it in Nightstand Mode. Let’s take a look.

New Monowear Leather Deployment Band For Apple Watch

Dan and I recently did reviews of some of Monowear’s products for the Apple Watch. We were both pleased with the design and quality of their bands. They have just released a new take on band design that combines open loop and closed loop options. The new leather deployment bands retail for $89.99 and are really cool. Let’s take a look! Historically, when using a standard leather watch band, they push through the little loop and hook into whichever hole is best for your size then run through another loop to hold the access. While this style of watch band…

Monowear MonoChest Keeps Your Best Apple Watch Bands Safe

Since the Apple Watch bands are so easy to change out, most people will collect a few styles. Some of these bands can be costly and need to be stored safely. Monowear has introduced the MonoChest ($99.95) which will safely house and display up to three bands and the watch as it charges. Let’s take a closer look.

The LUNATIK EPIK Turns Your 42mm Apple Watch into a Tank!

I’ve got an Apple Watch, and from normal wear the stainless steel has a light patina of little scratches. I don’t worry about that, but I do sometimes worry about whacking my watch or breaking its crystal; I’m paranoid like that. If you’re worried that your lifestyle might be too active for your watch, then you need the LUNATIK EPIK.
