Amazon Prime Day 2021 is about to start, so if you’ve held off buying a new phone, TV, tablet, headphones — or pretty much anything and everything that Amazon sells — you might be in for a surprise when you check prices June 21 and June 22.
Some weeks ago, Jabra did something amazing. When they released the Jabra Elite 85T, they also released a firmware update that brought ANC to the Jabra Elite 75T. It was a small touch that showed the company’s commitment to its consumers. Now they’ve done it again with a Jabra Elite 85T firmware update that delivers one-touch access to Alexa.
Being first-time parents came with many helpful suggestions of “things we should get.” Some were useful, but we ended up not needing many of those items; some of them we ended up regretting instantly, exchanging them for things we would actually use. But one of the saving graces over the first 5 months of our daughter’s life hasn’t been new toys or a NoseFrida, but what she’s slept in. I’ve always liked is Star Trek: The Next Generation. I like the show so much that in 1991 when Pocket Books brought out the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual, I had to have it. I bought it and thumbed through it so often that I eventually wore it out. I recently ordered a replacement copy from Amazon. However, what I got was different than what I expected; it wasn’t the original book or even a proper reprint. Evidently, Amazon reprints older books themselves, and it’s not the quality you might be led to expect.

Since Amazon basically sells everything, this has turned into a highly anticipated annual event. We recently reviewed the iHome iAV2. It’s a speaker dock that not only gives an Amazon Echo Dot much-improved sound but also doubles as a bedside clock. iHome also offers the iAV5B. It too greatly improves the sound from an Echo Dot but, while it lacks a clock, it adds something rather fun. Its lights make your music a visual treat.
The death of the Android tablet has been greatly exaggerated. Or at least premature. Lenovo seems to think there’s some life in the tablet market still, and they’ve a slew of budget Android tablets to prove it.
We have a number of Amazon Echo Dots in our home. They are a great way to inexpensively get into the Amazon Echo ecosystem, and the 2nd generation Dots work incredibly well.
