Moshi iVisor for 2015 MacBook

The folks at Moshi recently provided Gear Diary their iVisor for MacBook, a clear (matte) anti-glare screen protector for the new 12” MacBook.   Moshi gives a 100% guarantee that the screen protector will install bubble free and I have to say that it installed flawlessly for me. Once it was on, I hardly noticed it was there, except for the fact that the screen now had a matte look rather than the normal glossy look. The fit was clean and simple and can easily be removed and re-applied as needed. Moshi recommends you retain the backing sheet in case…

Moshi iGlaze for the 2015 MacBook Review

Recently, the folks at Moshi were kind enough to provide Gear Diary with a few of their products to evaluate for the new MacBook 12” (2015). I’m going to look at the first of these — the iGlaze for MacBook, a clear shell to protect the outside of your MacBook.

How I Ended up Buying the New MacBook 12-inch: A Personal Review

It’s common knowledge that Apple makes products that are extremely polarizing. The original iPhone, for example, was very polarizing. More recently, the original MacBook Air and Apple Watch became polarizing products. Add to that list the new 12-inch MacBook. I recently bought one to use as my primary personal computer. Why would I do that? Well there’s a story here.

Lunatik’s Epik is a Kit for Your Apple Watch That’s Stylish and Protective.

If you ever held an iPad Nano on your wrist hoping it could one day be a watch, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of Lunatik. If you haven’t, it’s worth noting that the company raised over $900,000 to turn the nano into a makeshift watch five years ago in 2010. So it’s only telling that now courtesy of Apple actually releasing the Apple Watch that they’ve attempted to put their bid in for the Apple Watch accessories category. With the Apple Watch all but have sold out to the point that if you attempted to purchase one on the 24th,…

Apple Makes Their Mark on Their Acquisition; Beats & iPhones Now Coordinate

Since Apple snatched up Beats, many figured they would start working on a music streaming service, and it looks like they are on their way to that. Late on Friday, Apple released three new colors for their Beats Solo 2 Wireless headphones to match the three available colors of the iPhone 6 & 6 Plus: space gray, gold, and silver.

So What’s AppleCare+ for Apple Watch’s Target Audience? Idiots.

Let me preface this by saying this. I want the Apple Watch. It’s not a need, strictly a want. I love having something nobody else can have. So naturally last month, I wanted one. Bad. But then came the waiting process, and I had time to think, and now just like people who weren’t up until 3am pre-ordering one, I’ll just be waiting.

The Apple Retail Store, the Watch, and the Consumer

Have you been in an Apple Retail Store recently? I was just in one yesterday, and the experience made me seriously question whether adding “fashion advice” to the list of specialties Apple Stores offer is a good idea. It also made me wonder if Apple’s customer service advantage is starting to fade, as it was a less than great experience.

CNNgo Is the Latest Channel for Apple TV

Earlier this week, CNN announced that Apple TV would be gaining their CNNgo app channel. On Wednesday, Apple silently pushed an update to their Apple TV with the CNNGo app, that taps into the CNNgo service (which requires a subscription to a pay-tv partner).

Apple Starts Releasing 3rd Party Apple Watch Apps

With Apple’s latest creation the Apple Watch to be released in less a month on April 24th, developers have been hard at work creating updates to their apps to make them compatible with the new smartwatch. And before you can even get your hand on one, some apps are already showing up.

Upcoming iOS 8.3 Settings Allow Free App Downloads Without a Password

One thing that I hate the most about Apple’s App Store is having to go and put in my password or fingerprint to download a free app. Now this is all about security I know, but it seems as if Apple hopes to change this with the ability to download free iTunes media and applications without using a password.

Apple to Update Apple TV with Siri and 3rd-Party Apps in June

It looks as if Apple has MORE to show us this Summer! One thing that I was really excited for earlier this month when Apple announced their apple Watch was the hope for a new Apple TV. And it looks as if they will deliver my wish in June at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC)!

Apple Reportedly Gearing Up for Online Television Service

In a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Apple seems to be in the talks to launch an slimmed-down online television service which would have around 25 channels with some major names like ABC, CBS, and Fox, and heavy hitter cable channels like E!, and Syfy.
