5G is coming, and no, it didn’t give everyone coronavirus. It is going to make connectivity faster and more efficient, not just with phones but also tablets and computers. MediaTek has been working hard to bring 5G to a tremendous number of devices, and now they’ll have even more devices to power thanks to a partnership with Intel.
5G is the next big thing in wireless, and everyone is looking forward to fast speeds and angry Nextdoor conspiracy theory posts. MediaTek is on it (the speeds, not the conspiracy theories), and they’re partnering with Intel to deploy 5G modems for laptops. So far, HP and Dell are slated to be among the first rolling out the new modems in early 2021, so keep your eyes peeled.
Lenovo has high-end business computers covered, but they create some excellent consumer devices as well. Their IdeaPad line is for everyday computing, and the new lineup covers everything you could possibly want, from simple to powerful to all-in-one devices.
If you read my Huawei MateBook 13 review, you’ll know that I am a huge fan of the 3:2 aspect ratio on a laptop’s screen. If you are, too (or even if you’re just curious about it), you’ll want to check out the updated MateBook X Pro and the brand new MateBook 14.
Last year we took a look at the MateBook X Pro, Huawei’s answer to the MacBook Pro for PC users. Now Huawei is taking on the MacBook Air with their Huawei MateBook 13. You’ll be intrigued by its speed, build quality, comfortable keyboard and touchpad, and the narrow bezels on the touchscreen. But there’s even more to like.
Lenovo has held the mantle of the ThinkPad line for years now, and they’ve consistently taken to new levels. The latest L-series ThinkPads are no different, with 8th Generation Intel Processors, fingerprint readers, and affordable price tags!
Huawei might be known for their premium high-end smartphones, but their latest foray into the laptop space proves that they’re getting really good at making premium PCs too. And that’s just it, the MateBook X Pro is not Huawei’s first laptop, but it does speak volumes about how far the company has come in just a short time.
Fitness trackers are a dime a dozen, and we’ve seen out share out there, but at CES, New Balance announced a product launch that might just shake up the fitness world starting with us here in Vegas.
If you have a student headed to highschool, off to college, travel, or even their first job, why not put the power to succeed in their hands? You can do it with the HP 13″ Pavilion x360 13.3 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook.
Last fall I attended IFA, and one of the biggest announcements to come out of the show was the introduction of Intel’s newest Core M Processor. This year there are quite a few laptops that take advantage of Core M, and the HP EliteBook Folio 1020 G1 is one of them.
The other day I reviewed the HP Pavilion X360 laptop. In many ways it is a 2014 netbook with a cool design and touchscreen. This is the first in a series of posts on the Dell Venue 11 Pro tablet/keyboard I was sent as part of the Intel 2in1 Program. I could not be more surprised that … I love this computer.
Microsoft continues to push Windows 8 hard in both the traditional laptop/desktop and the exploding tablet space, and the Dell Venue 8 Pro is one of the more compelling devices launched yet.
Judie and I had the chance to use the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook before it was even out. We live blogged, edited images and video and came away pretty impressed with Intel’s move into the “ultralight, ultraportable but still affordable” space. Now Intel is kicking things up with a series of amusing video ads. I’ll say one thing about them… they sure kept my attention! And here’s one more.
Raw power is irrelevant if the apps running on the device don’t use it efficiently. Intel knows that and is making sure app developers have the tool to not only create great apps but to create great apps that are also highly efficient.
Intel is talking NFC here in Barcelona, and it looks more and more like 2012 will see the breakout of mobile pay via smartphones. In fact, Visa also took to the stage with Intel’s Paul Otellini to discuss a multi-year alliance that will result in Visa PayWave contact-less payment system being part of a variety of Intel powered phones. We’ve discussed whether or not we would want our smartphones to serve as our wallets on the site, but it is looking more and more like this is inevitable. And, thanks to Intel’s work with Visa it looks like it will…
While the focus has been on Intel’s partnership with various companies on the creation of the new Ultrabook category of laptops here at MWC they are talking about a very different kind of partnership. This time, they are talking about new partnerships that will grow their presence in the exploding worldwide smartphone market. Just one example of this is the Intel/Orange partnership that will see the release of an Intel phone in France and the UK this summer. ZTE will use processors in their smartphones and, India’s Lava will release the XOLO X900 in partnership with Intel as well. Let’s…

We’ve seen it all at CES – vapor-products, stuff we won’t see for months (if ever), dummy products as show-pieces, and more. Now Intel – with the demo for their ‘bet the farm on it’ Ultrabooks … got caught faking a demo when the VLC control panel showed up a few times as shown above. The executive on stage tried to play it off, but the credibility of the entire show was lost. Check out the video: Since the demo – more to the point since being CAUGHT – Intel has admitted that the demo was a video done for…
Along with 12 other site owners, I was invited to attend the Intel “Upgrade Your Life” experience in Santa Clara, California on July 13th. I went into this event with no itinerary and no idea of what we were going to see, but I figured it had to be more than “just” processor chips. Sure enough, I was in for an eye-opening day … After a greeting by Intel’s Social Media guru Alison Wesley and an ice-breaking game of ‘guess the tweet’ game, we were on to the first speaker … Suzanne Fallender – Director, Corporate Social Responsibility Strategy and…
Beyond hamming it up with wandering oompah bands at Mobile World Congress, Helena and I managed to get hands-on time with some of the new devices and technologies that will be causing a stir in 2011 and beyond! HTC’s New Android Devices HTC won me over with their lovely new ChaCha. After using the BlackBerry Bold for a week, with its tiny little keys that I never got used to, the generously sized keys on the ChaCha, along with its softly curved body … I so wish that my Tru SIM had been installed in one of these babies. Helena…
